Well, didn't see a topic on it yet so I thought I'd start one. Since this was Sean's first game back as a starter...

My own personal opinion, I think he did an "okay" job. He didn't really shut it down, and he did have "the drop", but overall he was slightly over avg. Had he caught that, I'm sure I wouldn't be the one starting a Sean Smith thread. I give him a B- for the day. Others in the secondary I noticed yesterday:

Benny Sapp is not the best nickel man out there. Not very fast at all. Not even agile, which you would think is pretty important for that position.

Vontae... couldn't tackle anybody yesterday.

Bell... couldn't tackle anybody

Clemons was the only other guy I would say did an okay job in the secondary. The day was weird, our stars took the day off and the "other guys" showed up lol.

I think Sean had the best day of the 5. But that's also like being the smartest guy with down syndrome

***DISCLAIMER: Opinion only, I haven't analyzed replays and crap***

I know man. I cried like a little girl. I am a SS fan and that was his shot to change a game.

Slightly above average? Save for an inch or two at the endzone he was beaten for 6. He dropped the easiest pick 6 he'll ever see in his career. He was victimized several times on 3rd down. He didn't set the edge against the run.

I don't remember him being victimized on 3rd down. He shut down his man for pretty much the entire game.

Had he made "the play" we're talking about an A++ performance.

Agree PR, it wasn't him on the receiving end of Flaco's wrath. Sapp and Davis got worked all day.
