Dolphins signed CB Al Harris, formerly of the Packers.

It's a one-year deal. Harris is coming off major knee surgery and will turn 36 next month, so he's not a given to enter the starting lineup, but the Dolphins have been disappointed with the production from their right cornerback spot all season. Sean Smith and Jason Allen are officially on notice.

Well, I hope he does well for you guys. I know we won't miss him in the NFC North. (Except maybe Packer fans.)

I think this is more of an indication as to how they feel about Benny Sapp.

Would have rather had Will Allen then Al Harris, but anything is an improvement.

He's a bust, but he was a pretty good special teamer.

Wow ... let go for a 36 year old who just came off of major knee surgery? He went from starter to not-needed in just a few weeks. Oh, well. 3 coaching staffs cannot be wrong.

I'm more baffled by... how do they think he has the talent to start... to thinking he doesn't even have the talent to crack the roster ... in only 3 weeks it seems... kinda strange.

The Phins are on the hook for JA's 2010 salary. WHY wouldn't they keep him around for special teams?

They appear to be flying by the seat of their pants. This move, benching Henne, saying they are a running team but going away from it.

No kidding...sign a 36 year old off a knee injury and waive a first round pick. Was Allen a great or even good player? Probably not, but at least he was a body on special teams....can Al Harris play special teams?

The Dolphins just tossed the team's leading interceptor out the door.

The biggest stat in football is turnovers and Jason Allen was producing them.

I would take getting burned from a guy who produces turnovers. As a team, the Dolphins have caused 7 turnovers... Jason Allen had almost half of them.

How ironic would it be if Allen finishes the season with the most Int on the team.

I'm happy for Jason Allen.

Yea, they can, especially the ones running the team now.

When Allen played safety he excelled & created turnovers. I said it since 2006. Allen is not a CB.

It is desperation time, but I agree.

Maybe we can hope for a high draft pick

Maybe Harris is going to fill a mentor roll for our super young CBs?

Pretty soon our entire secondary is going to be chalk full of "Predators" .... tell VD and Yeremiah to grown their dreads out.

Two and a half years?...now suddenly this staff makes a decision on this guy?..Cmon

And the whole Henne benching?..these are decisions that should of been made in training camp not after eight games!!..

I'm beginning to worry about the state of this football team mostly in a management pespective.....a real puzzling day to say the least..

Another players that I got flamed for, the dude has been a bust since being drafted. He was injured, he needs times. Sounds familar.

His early success this year just comes off kind of fluky because of how poorly he has played since. Words cannot express how much he's been abused.

He was done once teams got tape of him. I do agree with Scot though, he was never a corner. Then again, he wasn't a good safety either.

Wow, the guy has the most interceptions on the team and he gets cut to make room for a 36 yr old corner coming off a blown out knee. And the hits just keep on coming.........
Add this head scratcher to the long list of illogical moves this front office has made. Coupled with the benching of Henne, I think I've seen all I want to see from these guys. Time for the next head coach and offensive coordinator of the Dolphins. Come to think of it, maybe we need a new GM as well, then we can be spared the embarrassment of prostitution questions coming up in interviews.
This franchise is a joke!

Phin .... take a couple deeps breaths.

Two of his 3 picks came in 1 game vs. a rusty Brett Favre. Ever since he's had 1 int and god knows how many deeps balls he's been burned on. It's been dreadful. His sampling of INT's is fluky.

No one else on Miami did it, so why knocked Allen for doing it?

One deep ball is all. Its amazing how people see one play & it multipies into "god knows how many deeps balls he's been burned on" That was the Pitts game against Wallace. Edwards had a nice catch & run against him when he slipped on the dirt infield.

A point to be made here. Davis gets burned bad in GB & no one complains.

Disagree on the safety part. He only really play it in '07 after all the injures & Miami was being abused by deep passes. Allen came in & those deep passes stopped plus he picked off 3 or 4 passes. Not to meantion the run support he provided.

Allen could have been one heck of a safety.

That's how INTs work though. There isn't such a thing as a player who gets an INT every game.

Exactly, because he is a darling of Dolphins fans and Allen has always been a goat. Vontae played poorly in the Green Bay game and the Ravens game.

He hasn't been as "shutdown" as people thought.

V. Davis played like garbage in the Ravens game. He lucked out in the Packers game since we won, if not, he would have taken heat for that long ball.

Im going to say this once, keep the personal crap to yourself. In the last 24 hours you've told me to take a deep breath, quit unraveling, stop flying off the handle, and probably one or two other personal directed comments that I can't recall at the moment.
A) Your no one to be casting stones
B) Your derailing the conversation
C) Your trying to paint me as a stark raving lunatic who is pulling his hair out, frothing at the mouth, and making no sense. Its not working.
D) Resorting to this stuff shows that it is indeed you who cannot handle a difference of opinion or it is you who is losing your cool.
If it continues, I'm putting you on ignore. I don't want to do that because I do enjoy a difference of opinion and to read what others think, but I'm not going to deal with this petty personal crap either.
Keep it on the subject man.

I can understand Allen's benching, but I don't understand his being cut. The guy was good enough to hold the job down for a while, and he was good enough to beat out SS in camp. So if SS is the starter now, how much worse can JA be? I have no doubt that JA is (was) the 3rd most talented corner on this team. To me this is another illogical move in a long line of them for this regime.
