Signs point towards Kerry Collins starting against Dolphins
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 12, 2010, 3:26 PM EST

Titans coach Jeff Fisher says Vince Young will be a “gametime decision” on Sunday against the Dolphins, but Fisher spoke louder with the practice time he handed out on Friday.

Kerry Collins took the majority of the first team reps and got some extra practice with Randy Moss after the session.

“[Vince] took half the reps [Thursday] and we just backed him down today,” Fisher said.

Young is recovering from an ankle injury, and you get the sense from Fisher that he’s more than happy to start Collins until Young is 100%. Young is officially listed as questionable. The Titans are as healthy as they’ve been all year, with defensive tackle Tony Brown probable. Kenny Britt is out.

Collins is going to need to be at his best against a hungry Dolphins team, that boasts a fired up new starter in Chad Pennington.

This is typical NFL coaching tactics. Fisher want's to force our team to practice for two different types of quarterbacks. Young will likely not play this week, but Fisher wants us to think he might play. I believe Collins plays today, the Titans cannot afford to have Young go down for the season if he comes back too early.

If Collins starts, blitz him every down. Ditto for Young. LOL!

Collins overall maybe the better QB, but Young is hot right now and the tougher match-up for us.

yep we seem to struggle containing big mobile QB`s
for me the key to game is to control johnson and try and stop those screen plays too rb`s
we must be one of the worst teams in the league at covering those and also
we seem not that good at running them ourselves

I agree, mobile qbs are just a major headache for us. If Young is the starter I hope we have someone hang back and spy on him. Someone that can take his running out of the equation and allow the other guys to go all out after him.
