Post Dolphins on equal footing with Raiders
I'm starting to get a little psyched about the upcoming game and it has nothing to do with this article. It's our Dolphins we're talking about. Win or lose .... bring it on.

Dolphins on equal footing with Raiders
November, 26, 2010

By Tim Graham
Despite that garbage fire that took place in Sun Life Stadium last week and a cross-continent trip this weekend, AccuScore gives the Miami Dolphins as much chance to win as the Oakland Raiders on Sunday at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

In its 10,000 computer simulations of the matchup, AccuScore considered Tyler Thigpen the Dolphins' starting quarterback. On average, Thigpen completed just 50 percent of his passes and had a 55 passer rating.

AccuScore also plugged in Chad Henne at quarterback to see how much difference he would make. Henne completed 55 percent of his throws and had a 68 passer rating. Not prolific by any means.

Still, the margin remained close. So narrow, in fact, that the Raiders won 50.3 percent of the simulations, but the Dolphins scored an average of 19.0 points compared to the Raiders' 18.8 points.

The key would appear to be Raiders running back Darren McFadden. If he can rush for at least 50 yards and average at least 4.5 yards a carry, then the Raiders become 68 percent favorites and win by a average of seven points.

I hate to say it but that sounds accurate. Protect the football and don't give up big plays and the Dolphins can win this road game.

3 years in now & is it a good thing to be on equal footing with the Oakland Raiders?
Very winable game if you ask me , injuries or not. We should be the better team.

Miami couldn't stop Matt what's-his-name Forte from Chicago and now face a much more prolific rushing attack spear headed by Darren McFadden. If they stop the running game, they have a chance. If McFadden rips off big gains ala last week. Miami will get beat by a lot.

People defend this regime yet rip Al Davis. Ironic isn't it?

Well we rip on Al because he sacrifices virgins and goats to keep himself alive.

First of all I don't know where this computer simulation gets Henne completing 55% of his passes? Henne is a 62% completion percentage for his career and he's right around 64% on the season this year. The only way I can see them justifying that stat is because he's injured. Henne's worst passing game this season against Baltimore he threw for over 64% and 230 yards. Heck, when Henne threw three picks against New England he threw for over 73% and 300 yards. I'm sorry but if Henne starts, you can bet he'll throw for 200+ yards and 2 touchdowns. He might have one pick in there, but he could also throw for 3 touchdowns and 300+ yards if the Raiders defense isn't prepared. I think if you take Thigpen out of those simulations then we are the favorite in this game.

Al Davis has burned them to the ground. They haven't won more than 5 games since 2002.

We've made some FA mistakes, but how can you even compare the two?

Actually, it wasn't far off. Henne completed 17 of 30 for 56.67%.

Forget stats , we really handled them yesterday. That offense except for a few plays were inept.
Our defense just elminated the run & Gradkowski is not the type of QB who can win a game with his arm for you. In fact yesterday was really the only time I have seen him this year but (maybe he had a bad game) he looked pathetic. I would like to think it was our defense that made him look that way.
It kills me that the Patriots have the Raiders first pick.
