We're ranked 13th in points allowed, 7th in yards allowed, 4th in passing yards allowed.

20th in rushing yards allowed.

If you have no problem with a 20th ranked run defense, you have no problem with mediocrity I suppose.

I think a big part of that Rich is that we're missing a lot of key guys up front. Merling and Odrick were supposed to be two guys up front for us this year that could shut the run down. Not to mention Misi and Wake are still learning a lot of pieces of their position and Crowder and Dansby are still getting used to one another. We're a very new unit and I think we'll get much better when we get guys back and get some time together. I think next year we will be much better against the run, that is unless we are dealing with the same kind of injuries up front. I do agree though, maybe we could take a look at a NT or OLB this year. If thats the best player on the board and we could use them then why not.

That's great...Henne is in his 3rd season...Started 4 in college

We need someone who plays better

Teams with bad qb's lose...Qb's like Henne a a dime a dozen

The Raiders have a couple...The Bills have a couple...The Cardinals have a couple....The 49ers have a couple.....The Titans have a couple

If it is his third season as a starting QB, why does he have like 20-something starts.

3 x 16 = 48. Simple math. Don't they teach that in elementary school or have you not gotten there yet?

So sitting on the bench somehow counts for game experience? More idiocy from you.

We don't need an upgrade at RB or QB.

The R&R Express hasn't had the best year, but I think a good portion of that blame rests on the offensive line. They are much better at pass blocking than run blocking.

I can't imagine any team throwing a ton of money at Ronnie so we should be able to get him to resign him for a decent price.

I also still believe in Henne and think most of his flaws are of the fixable variety.

The Dolphins should spend their money and picks elsewhere (TE, OL, and DL)

This team needs speed on offense. RB is a perfect place to start. Ricky isn't a young man and Ronnie is wearing down, when he isn't injured. He will want a big contract, but that would not be a wise use of the team's money.

like Phins Rock said, some games get away from us and the defense is left on the field too long. But overall they have been pretty darn stout up front.

He's a great player, but it's rare that FA's RB's pan out. Tomlinson in NY is an exception.

If we want to bring in a guy like Darren Sproles for 3rd down duties and ST's, than OK. But to go get a feature guy in FA would be a mistake, IMO.

that first year should have been very valuable for his development.
Say what you want but it's his 3rd year.

absolutely, we need some electricity in the backfield. Ronnie never lived up to his draft status and I love Ricky but he's old.

Not every team that has run the ball on us has done so because the defense was on the field too long.

The Jets gashed us from start to finish with LT. We won time of possession in that game.

New England was able to run on us with nobodies. Danny Woodhead? Seriously? We won time of possession in that game.

The Titans were also able to gash us. Again, we won time of possession.

So it's not always about the defense being on the field too long.

What they have been upfront is inconsistent.

It should have. But we do not know how much coaching he received.

And ultimately, there is no substitute for game action. So to say it's his third season is misleading.

We're going to look into this. If someone were banned here they were given ample warnings and did not listen to them. I cannot remember doing this, but it is very possible and one of my moderators would remember this.

we need a change at RB. I cannot see us coming back with Ricky & Ronnie. There was never a R & R Express.

The only way they both come back is if Brown accepts a short term, lower than desired value contract.

I think there are a few teams out there that would be willing to give him more money. Bellichick has always liked Brown and could overpay to have him replace the Fred Taylor/Sammy Morris duo. Brown and GreenEllis would probably share carries in NE.

Henne isn't being replaced. I think Ireland/Sparano hitch their wagon to him and see if he takes the next step. If he fails then all three are probably gone after next season. I'm not opposed to Miami spending a late round pick on a QB.

I'd much rather see them spend their efforts to FINALLY solidify the o-line. As PR keeps saying, if they can lure Mankins away from NE it would be huge. Wouldn't mind seeing them spend a high draft pick on a replacement for Carey and shifting him inside. An elite o-line would do wonders for this team putting up points consistently.

between Jerry, Garner, Incognito, McQuistan and Berger we have a solid crew of guards to move forward with. I have no problem bringin in a mid range free agent and a mid round rookie, but to pay top dollar for a guard isn't a smart move. The interior of the line should be where we save money. Tackles get paid, not guards. I think its more important to get a young center to groom.

Dolphins are 7th in the league in rush yards per attempt allowing only 3.8 per attempt
13th in yards allowed per game. Let's not get carried away about a few games that got away from us because of poor offense and special teams.

What they have been upfront is inconsistent.

How's Steve Hutchinson doing for Adrian Peterson's career? We're not talking a good player who is overvalued. Mankins has been elite and Miami has already shown interest. Its why New Orleans paid top dollar to Jahri Evans. If you are going to build a team around your ground game you invest heavily in your o-line. While they had misreads on Smiley and Grove, they proved they are willing to spend a lot on the o-line.

Garner, Incognito, McQuistan and Berger are castoffs who would be backups on most other lines. Lump Donald Thomas in there if you want. I like them as depth, but not to build a line around. Jerry is a rookie but hasn't done anything to separate himself from the others yet...and I stress yet.

Sure Miami has to be smart about money. Wake is going to need a new deal. I believe Langford's contract is up. The running back situation is uncertain. And the QB situation is either going to require giving Henne a new contract after next year or bringing in a free agent that will chew up some cap space (if there is one). Given this team's blueprint, I'd love to see Mankins join Long and Carey to give this team a long term o-line in the mold of prior Steelers and Ravens squads.

i'd rather spend for a quality corner to start opposite Davis. Or a tight end that can stretch the field.

A little consistency would be nice.

I agree with not signing some FA RB. If they are on the market, it's almost always because they are used up. Sometimes you get lucky (LT for instance - though he was signed to be the backup), but most of the time the signing ends up being like the Edge pickup for Arizona (not very productive).

I'm always of mind to get the BPA at every slot in the draft, but I would not mind seeing a RB in the first couple of rounds.

Smith is very good at covering, but is a terrible tackler.

We're going to look into this. If someone were banned here they were given ample warnings and did not listen to them. I cannot remember doing this, but it is very possible and one of my moderators would remember this.

None of us can remember Kev being banned. He also said that he left to go to another site is why we haven't seen much of him.

Keep on posting, Kev.

Deangelo would be the rare case of getting an excellent back in his prime because the Panthers have 2 elite backs

Mike Turner seems to be a good FA running back.
When Corey Dillon wen to NE, I can remember him doing good.
Thomas Jones didn't do to bad in NYJ.
Warrick Dunn wasn't too bad in Atlanta.
Priest Holmes wasn't bad for KC.

I wouldn't worry about RB's in FA. A lot of them are coming off a rookie contract which would put most running backs at the prime of their careers.

I wouldn't take a RB with a past of injury problems in FA...but I wouldn't mind picking up an experienced runner and draft a shifty speedster.

The Phins have seem to be going away from the run game this season, so I don't know if they are trying to convert this offense into a pass first offense, or if it is just a result of poor o-line and RB play. If the Phins are headed to a pass first offense, I dont think that RB is that high of an offseason priority. IF we continue to have a more balanced attack like we did against the Raiders, that I would think RB is a huge need.

same goes for Curtis Martin when he went from the Pats to the Jets
And Marshall Faulk fromthe Colts to the Rams.
All of these examples were great examples of aquiring a stud running back and getting many years of excellent production out of them.

So if we do not get Ingram, I would want deangelo
