Post Re: Dolphins to give Henne final 5 games to prove his worth
Who knows if that news is actually true ... but it passes the Smell Test ... so its tacitly true.

Plain & simply, we like all teams .... Will be drafting QBs, until one develops into a Franchise QB ... the big question is with which Level Draft Pick (or what amount of Free Agency money).

A QB would first have to be "judged by our scouts" to be worth of a particular Level Draft Pick ... then compared against other favored players for that Pick ... then the Coach has to earn his money & make that decision, knowing full well he needs good players for rebuilding & his Job Security ... but knocking one out of the park with a Franchise QB would give a job for life!!

As I see IT ... we still have 20-30 holes to fill to have a "really good" 1st String & great backups to fill holes & develop ... my hunch is that they'll use lower picks & Undrafted-Free-Agents to get a couple QBs. We need to find that up & comer backup QB too!! Both may be on the team, or both may be in college ... I can't predict the future & we get too little info to really know!! (Free Agency money comes into play also ... but its a 2-way street)

Just an FYI. Rivers could not beat Oakland this year in two tries. With the talent that team has & he cannot win with them.

Wonder if they are going to bench him? Oh yea, he puts up great numbers against crap teams every week.

Talents what talents does he have you mean no number one Wr all he has is Gates so how can you say he has talents at least he makes throws and doesn't look for a check down everytime like henne does.

It's ironic how you come to the defense of Henne by pointing out particulars of the rest of the team and yet in Rivers case it's just a blanket statement of "He couldn't beat the Raiders" .....

The Chargers have fielded a special teams unit nearly as pathetic as ours. They have the NFL's official M.A.S.H wide receiving core. Injuries to Buster Davis, Legedu Nanee, Malcolm Floyd, Patrick Crayton, Antonio Gates .... Jackson's hold out .... Guys like Randy McMichael and Seyi Ajirotutu have been catching passes and touchdowns from Rivers because he's putting the ball on the money.

The schedule has certainly been easier for them, but that still doesn't take away from what Rivers is doing. It goes without saying that the outcome could possibly be different if the Chargers faced more upper echelon competition, but there's no way to say you know for sure he wouldn't perform as well.

What is known is he's lighting it up with whoever SD decides to trot out there off the street. He's a maniac about studying game film. He's a fierce competitor. He's a true leader. I saw a video they showed on ESPN with he and Marino side by side and he's the closest thing to Dan I have ever seen.
