Well, this being our 6th loss, I think the far fetched dreams of sneaking in to the playoffs are just about over. Not impossible, but so incredibly unlikely that it's safe to say we're not going.

I think the team really is closer to success than we may think. The defense really is set. We have been hitting on defensive draft picks lately. Our offensive picks have been 50/50 with no real stand outs (Bess was undrafted). Henne is the best back-up in the league but I'm not seeing the starter come out. He seems inconsistent even with 6+ seconds to throw. I think we need to inject a serious amount of draft picks in to the offense to include a Center, Guard (run block specialist), and QB X2.

I couldn't agree more. Our D is young and coming along. Nolan should come back, THAT's IT! We need to do what the Falcons did after Vick. Clean house with the coaches and FO but keep a majority of the players. Thay hired a FO guy from NE and he changed the culture. We need to give Ireland one more year but with a whole new coaching staff or dump him and get a GM from the Steelers, Patriots, Ravens, Eagles or Giants! A young front office guy who learned under great minds. WE ARE NOT A POOR TEAM, JUST A POORLY LED TEAM!

IF Henne is the answer, they are 4 pieces away: OC, OG, #2 TE, RB option on 3rd down.

As far as the playoff picture, I was playing with the playoff generator, and here is what Miami has to do:

-Win out AND
-Jets lose their next 3 (@NE, us, @Pitt) and lose to Buffalo in Week 17. OR...
-Pats lose to Jets, Chicago, GB and us (3 of those in Foxboro). OR...
-Pittsburgh lose to Baltimore, Cincy, NY and Cleveland AND KC and Jax each lose 1 AFC game.

LOL?

are you seriously talking about play off hopes?

If Miami got into the play-offs, how could they compete with NFL level of playing?

Just look at the final seconds of the game. Miami had a chance to secure the game by holding onto that pretty easy interception. But it was the Browns who made the play moments later, THE BROWNS. I'm using this example to illustrate that Miami didn't want to win as bad as the Browns. Even with the poor play calling, you can see a general level of indifference to winning.

If the Browns can outshine Miami, I really don't want to watch my beloved Dolphins get embarrassed in a play-off game.

Imagine the Jets and Patriots being allowed to field the game at the same time against Miami. That is exactly what it would be like for Miami in a play off game at this point.

It would be comical, but also devastatingly humiliating.

Kind of like the 2008 embarrassment against Baltimore.

I really do think we're close. It just the places we need to improve are vital.
