Cameron Wake closing in on sack crown, says he doesn’t care

With one Sunday left in the regular season, Dolphins linebacker Cameron Wake leads the league with 14 sacks. But he says he doesn’t particularly care about his personal statistics.
“The individual things are not that big a part of what I do,” Wake told the Palm Beach Post.
Wake is one sack ahead of Atlanta’s John Abraham, and 1.5 ahead of Tennessee’s Jason Babin, Green Bay’s Clay Matthews and Dallas’s DeMarcus Ware. Leading the league in sacks would be an especially impressive achievement considering where Wake came from, as a former undrafted free agent who two years ago was playing in the Canadian Football League.
But Wake says he cares more about beating the Patriots on Sunday and finishing the season 8-8.
“I go out and play hard, and if I end up with it, that’s fine,” Wake said. “But as long as we go out and get a ‘W’ this week, that’s pretty much what I’m all about.
