 Terrence Cody down to 354
He's still grossly out of shape and undeniably fat but he i slimmer than the senior bowl. I think he would be wise to schedule a weigh in the night before the draft to show teams that he got down to 340 (IF he can get down to 340)

Re: Terrence Cody down to 354
is impressive, I just worry about him doing this every offseason instead of getting better he would be working on getting back to where he was

Just a biscuit short of 400 lbs....and probably an offseason short of not being able to perform at the pro level. No thanks.

Re: Terrence Cody down to 354
Even 340 is pushing it as far as being in shape. He needs to get down to 335 to be considered a 1st rounder.

Re: Terrence Cody down to 354
He will probably eat himself out of the NFL. However, some guys can get it done even totally overweight....but you take your chances trying to figure out what guys can get away with it. Better to pick a guy with a good work ethic who realizes his body is his paycheck in the NFL.

Re: Terrence Cody down to 354
I doubt that Iowafin. NT are HARD to find and this kid has 2 years of tape with him playing over 350 lbs and being a force in the middle.
With more teams making the move to 3-4 defenses, the demand for NT will be higher than ever.

What do you think Vince Wilfork and Casey Hampton weight in the offseason? This dude is rare and exactly what we need. Wilfork= gone......Hampton= gone.......SF and GB NT are gone. The reason is these guys don't grow on trees like RB. If we don't get McClain i wouldn't be upset with moving down and grabbing Cody.

Re: Terrence Cody down to 354
There no way in hell Vince Wilfork or Hampton weighs 325 lbs. You guys need to get over the body beautiful thing and realize that a good bit of the guys that play the NT position are just massive men.
Ted Washington, Pat Williams, Tony Sarigusa, Wilfork & Hampton are all guys in excess of 340 lbs.

Re: Terrence Cody down to 354
Yeah, I was looking at the NFL profiles of Vince Wilfork listed at 325, there is NO WAY he is that light! Have you seen the girth on that guy?
Hard to believe that Cody could creep close to 400 pounds and stay effectve with his cardio late in games, but this kid played in the Bama heat and hogged up a ton of room in the middle.
Coots, your a huge Bama guy, what do you think????

Both weigh 325 during the season....no where near 370 It was noted just yesterday by Jamie Dukes that Wilfork weighs about 370 in the offseason. Since he, himself is a former "fat guy" in the middle, I'll trust his word over yours as to what these big guys weight and should not weigh. It was applauded by ALL of the analysts that he was able to get down to 354 for the combine. These HUGE dudes need the activity of the season to keep their weight down to playing levels. Without daily practice and regimented workouts these guys gain weight very quickly. Fortunately the generally lose it very quickly as well. I'm not too sure about the dude, but he did make some serious cheese yesterday, especially with the way he can move his feet.

Re: Terrence Cody down to 354
Also keep in mind that Wilfork is shorter than Cody....
But in any case, Cody cannot be playing at 370. 350? Fine. Kris Jenkins plays at about that weight and is dominant for NY.
Sparano has proved that he can motivate guys to get in shape, (see Soliai), and I think he could do the same for Cody. In the 2nd round, fine. But not at 12.

He is also extremely injury prone.

Re: Terrence Cody down to 354
Not really. He's played 16 games 6 out of 9 years.
He's had 2 bad injuries, as I believe back in 04 he was never really healed from the injury from the season before, which thus caused him to miss that year too.
But for the most part he has stayed healthier than most 34 NG's.

But for the most part he has stayed healthier than most 34 NG's. Yeah, nearly 3 years worth of injuries... Wilfork has missed 6 games in 6 years, Hampton has missed 15 games in 9 years, Ratliff has missed one game in 4 years and Jenkins has missed 37 games in 9 years. I would only consider Jamal Williams a more injury prone NT than Jenkins, and that is certainly not MOST NT's. Even Williams had only missed 27 games in 11 seasons until this year.
