Schefter reports Palmer to Raiders for 2012 1st Round pick and conditional 1st Rounder in 2013.

I have zero doubt. Did Al Davis possess his son to make that deal?

That is an absurd amount. The Raiders now have 2 draft picks for next year: a 5th and a 6th round pick. Also look like they'll be without a 1st in 2013. Unbelievable.

Oakland used as many first round picks on a QB as the Dolphins have in their franchise history.

Need a moment?

Man, that is too steep for a 31 year old quarterback ... especially one that hasn't thrown a pass in an NFL game since last year and looked to be on the decline anyways. Besides, the Raiders aren't a QB away from going to the Super Bowl.

WOW.

Sweet trade for Cincy. Palmer is a weak armed Qb thats best days are behind him. Really sweet deal.

If the Raiders win a playoff game, then Cincy gets that 2nd pick.

If they win it's worth it..We will see...

I thought they gave up too much for Semour...It has worked out

The raiders are very talented..

How come we didn't trade a 7th for Ronnie Brown?

The deal as it stands is a 1st next year and a 2nd the year after. If the Raiders win a playoff game this year, that 2nd in 2013 becomes a 1st.

The only way the Raiders can possibly come out ahead in this deal is with a Super Bowl win led by Palmer.

Anything less and they mortgaged their future.

Uh...ok. And I'd have given you 100 dollars for 1 million dollars. Why would they have traded for a QB on IR?

Um, why would they trade THAT MUCH away for Palmer? Reports had said the Bengals wouldn't trade him away for anything less than a 2nd round pick, so you offer up a 1st and a 2nd guaranteed??!!?

I was just saying that a 1st and a 2nd (or more) is a RIDICULOUS price for Palmer. That's all.

I'm a bit ambivalent on Palmer. While part of me would be curious to see what he could do in Miami (if the claims that his arm strength is back are true), the other part of me would rather Miami develop their own draft pick.

I just wonder how much he has in the tank with all of his injuries and how well he would do with this o-line?

Just in case anyone cares, Palmer's first start with Oakland has taken off with 3 picks...which followed 3 Kyle Boller picks.

6 bleepin picks...that's Joey Harrington style.

Other way around...Boller started, then Palmer came in and promptly threw a pick 6.

One pick rolled off his receiver and flipped up... He really didn't have much chance though...Thet mi connected quite a few times from not noing the plays

Thrown into a game after only being with the team less than a week? Ya ... nothing to judge yet.

There's a difference between not being on the same page...and not being able to throw a 5 yard out. He just laid it up there for the DB to go grab. I don't care what system you're running, a throw like that is going to get picked off.

Has nothing to do with him not being in Oakland and everything to do with him not being able to throw the football.

Tony Dungy would disagree with you. He even remarked on the communication error that will get worked out with more practice time.

He threw 3 picks...some of it was communication, sure. I'm talking about the pick 6 that was a terrible throw.

Ya, they specifically highlighted that play in reference to the communication break down.

I saw that........Pretty cool breakdown.

The corner baited him with safety help.....Arm strength was not the issue

I really don't know what they were thinking. They rushed him into action too quickly. Heck, he hasn't played a snap since last year and has no chemistry with his receivers yet. Kind of a really dumb move.

Well, what other choice did they have? Boller threw three picks, too...why stay with him when you just dealt 82 first round picks for a guy?

Why would any team feel comfortable having Kyle Boller as a backup? Honestly.

Palmer is in a long line of pocket QB's and I've never been a fan. The Raiders got fleeced in desperation. But you have to feel for them....they're having their first winning season in awhile and lose the starting QB...they're as snake bit as we are.

What you should have pointed out was that Palmer didn't start, and I made it seem like he did. Doif.

Regardless, I'm not going to fault the guy for a bad performance when he's had all of half a week to prepare. But he clearly still has arm issues and is not going to be the Palmer of old ever again.

A big "thank you" to Ireland for another non-move. Every QB option for the Dolphins in the preseason was bad news.

If you watched any of the Raiders/Packers game, Palmer lobs the ball while Aaron Rodgers rifles it in there.

If what Salguero says is true then Palmer was probably going to be a Dolphin if the lockout had not occurred. Sounds like Ross wanted the big name QB pretty badly.

I like Palmer but don't think he's the guy you bank on to go the distance and certainly not worth the asking price. Maybe he was back in 05. He would have been killed behind the o-line play early on.
