1. In eight plays of the second quarter, the 0-7 Dolphins made their return. They had three, season-breaking turnovers in those plays ... Philadelphia outscored the Dolphins, 24-0 in the second quarter ... • Dan Carpenter missed a 56-yard field-goal attempt to give Philadelphia got the ball at the Eagles 46. No second-guess there. Carpenter was making them from 60 yards with the same wind in the pregame. ...

2. All the questions of September and October resurface now: Who replaces Tony Sparano? ...

3. We saw just how important Jake Long is to the offensive line. Without him, the line collapsed ...

4. Matt Moore had a chance to take another step forward Sunday. ... no step forward.

5. Stat of the day: The Dolphins were 3-of-10 on converting first downs through the first three quarters ...

Disagree with number 1 ..... as I stated earlier, the Dolphins defense was playing lights out prior to the missed FG. The Eagles were not moving the ball well on their side of the field. We had a 7-0 lead and a chance to pin them back once again in unfavorable field position with the league's best punter. Instead, we attempted a low percentage FG with windy conditions and a kicker with groin issues. I don't care how many he hit in pre-game. You kick a 55 yarder only when YOU HAVE TO and not when you've got a dangerous offense on the other team who could take advantage of a miss ... Sure enough he missed it, the Eagles then needed half the field to work with. The playcalling dynamics changed and their speed destroyed us. Momentum completely shifted.

While the game was practically meaningless in terms of post season implications .... it still meant something as far as evaluating Sparano and the idea of keeping him. It's coaching decisions like that, which have reared it's ugly head consistently over his tenure.

As far as #3 goes, it was worse than a collapse. It was one of the most pathetic displays we've seen in a while from this unit.

#4 I agree with. Still no step forward. Still pulling the for guy though. His O-line didn't help him at all, nor did the run game (which didn't get going until the game didn't matter). Curious to see if he plays after this concussion and how well he fairs in the last 3 games. It's important for him to make a statement, otherwise questions are going to continue to linger about his viability as starter. Not going to jump off a cliff about the guy though .... I mean that line gave up 9 freaking sacks today.

When you have a first down on their 42 and a 7 point lead you...

1. run run pass and try a long FG

That way you can set a passive tone and pretty soon your players willl settle in for a good whooping.
