They have a lot of former Pittsburgh Steeler coaches there.

That said, nothing is going to stop him from being....Peezy. Good luck AZ....

Maybe so, but Joey was 29 when he signed with Miami. Paying that type of money to a when they are 33 is a little different.

I'm a little surprised by the money, that all. Nothing more, nothing less. He off Miami's books and in Arizona.

First things first, I am just happy it wasn't with NE or anyone else in our division for that matter. However, the Cards way overpaid for Porter considering his production last year and at the end of 08.

Whisenhunt's going to be surprised that the JP that he knew and the JP who now is playing for him is not the same player .... JP only cares about JP. I wish Porter a lot of luck and I think he has a couple more good years as a pass rusher in him.

Whisenhunt: Porter Brings Intensity & Passion

ESPN reports Arizona Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt, who was on the Pittsburgh Steelers' staff when LB Joey Porter was a star for them, doesn't view him as a troublemaker. And the three-year, $17.5 million deal shows the Cardinals still think Porter can play. "There's been a lot said and written about Joey -- the bulletin-board material he gives to other teams and all that stuff -- but in my experience with him, he believes in the team concept and knowing that being successful is about being unselfish," Whisenhunt told NFL.com's Steve Wyche. "He brings an intensity and passion and will keep that level up throughout the game on defense." "I watched more than 400 snaps, and I still see his ability to make those plays," Whisenhunt said. "He also fills an area we needed to address."

Apparently the Cardinals wanted Kam Wimberly, the OLB from Cleveland that was traded to the Raiders. The Cardinals were in on that discussion but could not get a deal worked out with Kam, as he had only 1 year left on his contract.

The piece on is ProFootballtalk.com.
