Miami Dolphins H-back Charles Clay tore a ligament in his right knee and will undergo season-ending surgery in the coming days.
Clay, who is half fullback and half tight end, will be placed on injured reserve for the final two games, opening up a roster spot for the Dolphins.
His absence from the offense means rookie tight end Michael Egnew, the Dolphins' third-round pick, and/or Kyle Miller, an undrafted rookie the Dolphins claimed a few weeks ago, will have their roles elevated for the season's final two games.
