But wake me up when March 9 gets here and teams can formally begin bidding on players.

That is when the "I'm walking out the door" price gets offered by a car salesman. The NFL is no different.

NFL teams generally begin talking about the framework of a hypothetical deal during secret backroom meetings with agents at the NFL Combine in late February. So what is the rush to sign a player, any player, now?

What is this obsession about (insert name) receiving a lowball offer?

The Dolphins purposely purged their roster to create $47 million in cap space. Miami officials aren't blown away by any of the eight starters expected to become free agents, have contingency plans if they do leave, and certainly don't intend to bid against themselves to re-sign anyone.

They should have a couple of guys they target and go after hard from day 1 of free agency. Other guys they should take it at a slower pace

the only players on our roster that are must keeps for the near future are (of course) Tannehill, L. Miller, Pouncey, Martin, Wake, Soliei, Starks, Burnett, Thigpen, Fields and R. Jones.

IMO everyone else is expendable and replaceable. Of course we will retain some of our free agents but I will not be crying if Long, Smith, Bush or Hartline get away for bigger dollars.
That will only free up more money for us to get better options.
