Ten Thoughts on The Dolphins Crazy Tuesday: Dave Hyde
Quote: Dave Hyde

1. So Steve Ross won’t spend to win? ...
2. Free agents don’t want to come to the Dolphins. How many times was this repeated by people who had nothing more insightful to say? ...
5. There are holes at tight end, cornerback and tackle to be addressed. I also expect the Dolphins to look at a pass-rushing specialist and John Abraham (10 sacks last year in Atlanta) fits the bill perfectly.
6. Mike Wallace isn’t the “one-trick” speed guy some are saying. ...
7. Ellerbe is being paid like a two-down linebacker. His $7 million signing bonus is roughly half what Wheeler ($13M) got. ...
10. Just to show that Jeff Ireland did have a line he wouldn't cross: Jared Cook's five-year, $35-million deal with St. Louis included a reported $19-million signing bonus. For a guy with eight career touchdowns. Sorry, that's a deal-breaker. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miam ... 2454.story

We don't have specifics on Ellerbe. Hyde got his wires crossed. Per Rotoworld. Philip Wheeler - 3/12/2013: Signed a five-year, $26 million contract. The deal contains $13 million guaranteed -- a $7 million signing bonus and each of Wheeler's first two base salaries. 2013: $1 million, 2014: $5 million, 2015: $2.9 million, 2016-2017: $4.9 million, 2018: Free Agent Interesting that Wheeler's base salary actually drops in 2015. I'm liking his deal more and more.

I think all this went down as planed. When you have not been a viable team for so long and the fan base has had it and you are on the hot seat and you are in a contract year and you are desperate and you have all that money you are going to spend it and guys will sign. Not many teams were in on Wallace and better teams can sit back until the fourth day or so of free agency and get better bargains. Us , KC and Cleveland to name a few need to win now. None of this should be a shocker. There was no way we eere not gonna be active. Plus the begging for public money to fix the stadium. I just hope it works because now there are no more lame excuses.

Re: Ten Thoughts on The Dolphins Crazy Tuesday: Dave Hyde
So we signed a WR. and swapped LB's..
We lost a starting TE OT 2 CB's and RB...Haven't added any depth which is what the draft should be for.
We still have some bad contracts and room could be made by fixing a few others.Alot of work still to be done chemistry wise.
Reminds me of the Bills last year so far.
