I want Welker gone from the Pats. He is Brady's security blanket and move the chains like no one else on that offense. Without him their offense would definitely take a step backwards.

Sorry to say but I think the Pats will do just fine getting his replacement. I know Bellichick would simply love for the Fins to cut Bess and he would sign him within minutes.

I wouldn't sleep on the Pats making a late push for Jennings.

Do the Broncos really have any money to sign Welker?

I would love to get Wes back...

prob just because I know we blew it big time in letting him go in the first place.. Our coaching staff had no idea how to use him at the time....

Won't happen as we have much bigger needs.. but I would not cry if we got him.. Just saying

I think losing Welker would hurt the Pats big time. Yes everyone is replaceable but I have seen this little dude bail out that offense too darn often. How many time have we seen them on third and long throw a quick slant to Welker for a first down? I am rooting for Denver to snag him and get him out of here.

With everything that's happened to the Ravens, the Pats and Broncos are the favorites in the AFC. If the Broncos can takeaway the Pat's best receiver, they should make that move. Using the same logic, the Pats should do everything they can to keep it from happening. Interesting to see how this works out.

I'm still pulling for either the Pats to overpay for him, or for some other team to overpay for him.

Wes Welker has agreed to terms with Denver Broncos.

Denver gave Wes Welker a two-year deal.

We should see a run on wide receivers now that Welker is signed.

Yeah, $6 mil/yr for 2 years. I would have the thought the Pats would have offered more than that. Anyway, good news for the Phins.

Will be nice not to see him twice a year. I guess we might see him next in the AFC championship game when we wii face Denver.

They won't have a choice, especially with how enraged Brady is over this. Amendola would also be stupid to go to the Eagles or Vikings over NE. Broncos are not in the market for his services.

The pats offered him 2 years 10 mill....
whats wrong with them??

from roto world

Stunner complete: Welker signs with Broncos

Broncos agreed to terms with WR Wes Welker, formerly of the Patriots, on a two-year, $12 million contract.
Per the Boston Globe, the Patriots offered only $10 million over two years. The win-now Broncos pounced when Welker was insulted by New England, throwing some stunning spice into an otherwise predictable market. The move alters the balance of power at the top of the AFC, and will finally test the theory that Welker is a "replaceable" player who only became the first receiver in league history to tally five 100-catch seasons because of New England's system. He gives the Broncos an elite, imposing receiver corps, likely the best in the league. Welker will take Brandon Stokley's place in the slot, representing a seismic upgrade in run-after-catch ability. Peyton Manning's security blanket in 2012, Stokley drew 58 targets. Even with Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker in the fold, Welker should double that, even if his days of catching 100 balls a year are over.

I hear what yall are saying; if the Pats don't want him its probably because they have another plan. But from what I understand (allegedly) Jennings has an offer on the table from the Packers for close to 10M a year. & if he doesn't get a better offer by midnight then he'll resign. So if New England isn't willing to pay Welker 6M a year then I highly doubt they would value Jennings that much

Such a wonderful day, aint it? Brady fits are like chicken noodle soup to a Dolphin

Smart move?

Welker has been a legend up there & they do him dirty him toward the end of his career by signing a younger yet more fragile version of him. Boston will turn on players in all sports in a heartbeat. Hero today, Bum tomorrow. Quit sweating their jock, Schef

Amendola is a pretty solid receiver. It would have been better to see him go elsewhere. He does get hurt a lot though, so maybe it won't work out too well for the Pats.

I don't get it. Brady cleared a lot of cap by taking less than market value, and the Patriots kick Welker to the curb for a player that has seen the field less than Jake Long the past two years.

Quote:
The Patriots have reached an agreement on a five-year, $31 million deal with receiver Danny Amendola, with $10 million guaranteed, a source tells PFT.

Still, there are questions about Amendola’s durability — he has played in only 12 games in the last two seasons — and Amendola has never had the kind of production that Welker had. Amendola’s career best season was 85 catches for 689 yards in 2010; Welker has had five different seasons with more than 110 catches and more than 1,100 receiving yards.
