Marcus Thigpen to play old Bush role in 2013

The Palm Beach Post reports that Marcus Thigpen could take over the "Reggie Bush role" in the Dolphins' offense in 2013.

Not in the essence that Thigpen will start or play heavy snaps, but beat writer Ben Volin expects him to line up in the slot and act as a scatback on third downs. Thigpen handled return duties for Miami last season, but he played just 33 snaps on offense. We'd be surprised if he played a big offensive role.

I just posted in another thread that I thought Austin would fill this roll at twelve and make us the most explosive team in the league!

I run for 8 yards and one reception for 15 yards.

He's a 4.45 guy. We've seen what he can do in the open field on returns. Why not put him in on some screens or catching dump offs?

The running game will be very different if the passing attack is more potent and defenses have to back of the line some.

It seems that we see some of the things that the coaches don't see at times. One glaring problem was not getting Reggie Bush the ball in open space last year. What gave Shula such longivity was that he adjusted his style of offense/defense to the talent that he had. Hopefully this year we will see more wide open calls now that Tannehill has some experience and weapons around him.
