New Philadelphia coach Chip Kelly, who coached Dion Jordan at Oregon, told Philadelphia media he was going to take Jordan with the fourth overall pick. “Trust me, the guy who went No.3, we considered heavily,’’ he said. “We didn’t get a chance to pull the trigger on that one.”

I'll bet Kelly was very excited when he first saw it was Miami who traded up thinking they would take Johnson and allowing Jordan to fall to them.

And if Philly hadn't taken him, Detroit would have.

The incredible part is that trading up to #4, #5 or #6 would have cost us more in trade than what Oakland took. And yet we were able to leapfrog everyone to get Jordan

Thank goodness for Oakland. Even without Al Davis, the tradition continues.

Apparently Miami was only teams wanting to move up. Oakland was going to take the CB, so they took what they could get.

We usually find ourselves in that situation... Trading away Marshall for far less than we paid, trading Vontae Davis for less than you could have hoped and go back as far as Surtain at a discount

Hope this turns out better for Miami than the Texans were going to draft Ginn @ 10.

They should have gotten more, but they were desperate. They didn't do poorly, though. They traded down at the last minute and got the same person 9 spots later that they were going to draft at #3. Then they picked up a high 2nd round pick in the process. I'll bet they said they did pretty well on that trade.

If Reggie McKenzie could have gotten more, I believe he would have. The Raiders just needed picks, as McKenzie has a MASSIVE rebuilding job. Miami was able to get fortunate to only have to give up the one 2nd round pick, so let be happy about that.

That said, the ridiculous deals and trades that you saw from the Raiders in the past will not take place any more. McKenzie is off of the Ted Thompson/Green Bay tree. He will need time, but I think he can get the Raiders back on track.
