...

the Dolphins four-wide set during Tuesday OTA was intriguing.

Mike Wallace. Brain Hartine. Brandon Gibson. Dustin Keller.

Two speedy receivers who have both had 1,000-yard seasons. A proven big, physical reciever that can work the middle and occasionally get deep. And a seam-threat receiver who has a reputation for uncovering quickly and making himself available to his quarterback.

Boom.

We've come a long way from Hartline, Anthony Armstrong, Davone Bess and Anthony Fasano“Yeah you know we’re still learning, but I’m excited about what I see from those guys. They’re all getting a grasp on the offense and we’re starting to get a lot of reps with each other, so (we’re going to) continue to work that to . ...

I like it. I do however wish they would have added another young receiver in round 4 or 5.
Chris Harper and Quinton Patton were still available in that range.
Alas, maybe Rishard Matthews, Marvin McNutt or Jasper Collins become that youth project that pays off a year from now. I really want to see us become like Green Bay, where the 4th receiver is as good as the 2nd receiver.

I am really excited about the mismatches that will be created by the addition of Keller, Wallace and Gibson. As long as the offensive line jels and Tannehill avoids intecerptions, this offense will be fun to watch and maybe even considered explosive.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but we wouldn't exactly call Brian Hartline "speedy", would we?

He was a champion in track in high school (not sure about college) and was named Ohio's fastest kid. Take it for what its worth, but I read about it lol. I think he ran a 4.55 40 which is average, not slow and around the same speed as most corners.

Hartline runs a 4.52 40.

Not a bad time when you're a 6'2 200 lbs receiver. He's not a blazer and probably isn't the quickest guy, but he got behind several secondaries last year. A couple of better deep throws and Hartline's TD numbers don't look so bad.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really consider 4.5+ in the "speedy" category. He's a nice receiver, don't get me wrong. I like the guy a lot, he just doesn't fit into my definition of a speed receiver.
