Post Friday morning practice
Quote:
Today's Dolphins practice is in shells and shorts.

John Jerry is not at practice so far.

Watching Dallas Thomas work at left guard and Richie Incognito work at right guard. Mouth opened!

Will Yeatman, who spent his first week at left guard, is not manning the left tackle spot. Phins are crosstraining or experimenting?

Joe Philbin has talked about starting the best 5 O-linemen. I assume Dallas Thomas & josh Samuda are in the running to replaced John Jerry.

Nate Garner, who plays every position on the O-line but left tackle, has spent every practice at right tackle so far.

Armando Salguero ‏
Dolphins back working today in shorts except for cornerback Jamar Taylor and running back Cameron Marshall who are still nursing injuries.

Here's something interesting: Rookie Dallas Thomas is taking first-team snaps with the offensive line at right guard.

Dolphins rookie kicker Caleb Sturgis is riding the exercise bike. I've learned he's battling a groin injury. Today is a Dan Carpenter day.

Dolphins rookie tailback Cameron Marshall, who hurt his left leg on Wednesday, is not working today.

Dustin Keller just dropped an easy pass during 7-on-7

Josh Samuda puts Kheeston Randall on his back

It appears John Jerry is sidelined with an undisclosed medical issue. Might be out a while.

RT @JamesWalkerESPN: #Dolphins WR Brian Hartline beats CB Dimitri Patterson on an out-route for a first down. Nice throw by Ryan Tannehill.

Ryan Tannehill just completed a nice sideline catch to Brandon Gibson to get them in the red zone during 7-on-7s.

I just realized the Phins O-line now features Jonathan Martin, a 2nd year player, & Dallas Thomas, a rookie, protecting Tannehill's blindside

I don't know about that. Lance Louis is still recovering from his ACL injury. Now Jerry is out with some type of undisclosed injury. I wonder if Miami needs to bring in another veteran FA guard. I still remember watching Mark Colombo's play like a turn style. Does anyone have any info on Jerry's injury or how far along Lance Louis is in his recovery.

Miami starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill had his best practice of training camp. Tannehill was sharp, efficient and made quick decisions. More importantly, Tannehill made several really good throws to new No. 1 receiver Mike Wallace for first downs. The Tannehill-Wallace tandem also had their best connections of the week. Tannehill has received some early criticism for his slow start in camp. But he’s had two good practices in a row on Wednesday and Friday without any turnovers.

There was an unusual amount of drops on Friday. Tight end Dustin Keller had two, and receiver Rishard Matthews, tailback Jonas Gray and tight ends Charles Clay and Kyle Miller all had one each.
