Dolphins top pick Dion Jordan, who defeated Andrew Luck twice in college, says he doesn’t plan on losing to the Colts star Sunday either.

Dion Jordan and Andrew Luck share a history that dates back to 2010.

And while some of the details have grown fuzzy with time, Jordan, the Miami Dolphins rookie pass rusher, gets the important parts right.

“Yeah, me and Luck know each other pretty well,” Jordan said this week. “I never lost to Andrew Luck. I don’t plan on it.”

Jordan’s bold words will be put to the test this Sunday, when his Dolphins tangle with Luck’s Colts in a matchup of 1-0 teams.

Luck, the outstanding young quarterback, was the No. 1 pick in the 2012 draft. Jordan went third overall a year later. But when their college teams met on the field, it was Jordan who ended up on top.

Jordan went to Oregon, which blew out Luck’s Stanford Cardinal in each of the two times the Ducks faced Luck as a starter.

“I try forget most of my matchups against Oregon, so thanks for bringing those up,” Luck deadpanned Wednesday, when asked about the one-sided rivalry. “I just remember [he’s] fast, athletic, eats up space and physical. A lot of respect for him as a player.”

Jordan claims he got Luck, famously elusive, to the ground “two or three” times during the two meetings.

The box score, however, tells a different story. Jordan didn’t have a tackle in Oregon’s 2010 victory, and was credited with half a sack the year later.

“You could tell the difference between him and a lot of other quarterbacks,” Jordan said. “He controlled the things that went on, as far as the offense. He made big plays. You were able to tell he had a bright future ahead of him.”

Jordan, meanwhile, was finishing up his career at Oregon by deviling defenses with his versatility. A standup outside linebacker in college, the 6-6, 248-pound Jordan had 12.5 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss his last two season.

You know talking bad about Dion is dangerous.... :fart:

I heard that he never lost to him in college, I dont suppose Chip Kelly scoring 55 points per game had anything to do with it, it was Dions monster .5 sacks bwaaahahaha....

Dear Mr. Jordan,

From now on, let your performance on the field do your talking. At this point in your career, you haven't yet earned the right to speak to the media in the manner you did.

Sincerely,

TommyNoleFin

Is that the best you can come up with, Richhead? :)

Doin Jordan is going to have a big game today. I predict 3 tackles, 2 of those for loss, one sack, and I think he sniffs out a screen pass that turns into an INT. He will not loose to Andrew Luck.

I hope you are right. Obviiusly we want to see the Dolphins win, but also would like to see Jordan start being a big part of those wins

if Jordan starts to add to the havoc we already create on defense, I feel bad for opposing offenses.
This front 7 can be every bit as good as San Francisco's. Maybe even better.

I hope he sits most of the game myself, he is still nursing the shoulder and I would rather see what he looks like healthy in a few weeks than watch him nurse the injury all season..

Wake is a beast, he can handle business. Plus Satele is the center, our DT's will be creating pressure up the middle..

Dion Jordan definitely lost to Luck just now. What kind of a poor sack attempt was that? How do you get a shot at the QB like that and just decide to bump him. That would have ended their drive. You have a lot to prove Jordan.

It was poorly done, but I even saw Cam Wake wiff on a sack on Luck. The kid is tough to bring down. Kudos to him in getting in position to make the sack, but he has to complete the deal.

Someone remind Dion, the game requires tackling the QB....it isn't touch football.

He should have blown Luck up on that play. Grimes saved the day big time with the INT.
