ProFootballFocus.com, which tracks every NFL player's production per snap and assigns them a grade and ranking at their position, proclaimed Jones the NFL's third best safety last season based on his 1,141 snaps. The only players Jones, who received a positive 22.1 grade, was behind were San Diego safety Eric Weddle and Buffalo's Jarius Byrd. His performance landed him a five-year, $29.3 million extension last month.
But Clemons, who was re-signed to a one-year, $2.75 million deal, wasn't far behind. He was ranked the NFL's 25th best safety, checking in with a positive 4.4 grade. According to ProFootballFocus.com, Jones and Clemons were the NFL's fourth best safety tandem last season, behind Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
"We bond on and off the field. We're friends, we have a good vibe," said Jones, who contributed 94 tackles, four interceptions, one sack and two forced fumbles last season. "We play well together."
