I am hoping we trade down and get another 2nd with our 1st and pick to slide into the 20-25 range. This isn't the greatest WR draft in recent memory, but it's beneficial to us that the DE and CB positions overshadow them. Due to this, I am looking for Justin Hunter to fall down to the 20-25th slots, while we trade down for him, obtaining an additional 2nd as well. If he does not fall to that range and we are not able to get another 2nd out of it, I'd go with the BPA available ONLY in regards to the DE, CB and WR positions. Scrapping that to the side, this is a WR thread and am asking...which WR would you feel would benefit the Fins and Tannehill the most coming out of the 2013 draft?

I know there are people on this board who favor getting a DE (or any other position) with our 1st, but regardless choose the best receiver you think is available for us in this draft.

(I am not fully up to date on other team's needs, but hopefully Hunter falling into the last 1st is accurate.)

Robert Woods is not going to be a great pro receiver IMO.

I see Justin Hunter as maybe a Sidney Rice, in both ability and injuries.

I like Terence Williams upside the most ( got some A.J. Green/Kenny Britt characteristics )

Keenan Allen is a run-after-catch west coast wide receiver,
maybe comparable to Randall Cobb (he plays the position like a runningback)

Terrance Williams is my number 1 WR.

I really like Markus Wheaton too. Did some work on him this morning, and he looks like Mike Wallace 2.0...Eerily similar to Wallace, actually.

Do you know his 40 time? I was watching highlight reels and Hunter's athleticism just seems so superior to Williams'. As I watched Williams' highlights, half the time (literally) he fell over in mid field in which looked like he wanted to avoid being hit, and he reminds me a lot of Brian Hartline...lots of circus sideline catches, but no major trait or upside into becoming a Megatron type player. Look up Justin Hunter, he is an all around athlete and has the raw size to make it in any offense this league has.

he's definitely rising. Haven't seen him mocked into the 1st round yet, but he's a high 2nd round guy

I guess because he hasn't declared yet but I don't know why he isn't top 5, I believe he is 2 nd in the nation is receiving TD's!

I've seen DeAndre in a few mocks in the 1st round, and his stock will continue to rise. In regards to Justin Hunter, I think he pretty inconsistent for a kid that has the raw talent he has. Production does not match the talent.

Terrance Williams is in the 4.5 40 range, but I suspect he will run better at the combines. You look at his production at Baylor, with his size and speed, their a lot to like.

This is my opinion though, and there are plenty of opinions on this board. If you like Hunter better, so be it.

Justin Hunter has had 3 years to show people he's more than just potential. He's an athlete, but don't mistake that with NFL talent.

Also, if you're basing your evaluations off highlights, you're going to be wrong a lot

Nobody in this draft class is a star WR. But Williams is going to be a real solid number 2, who has the size and quick feet to work underneath and the speed and ball skills to make plays down the field. Also good after the catch which is huge.

Walter Football has him ranked 4th! He will move up after the combine.

I'll admit, you can see Hunter's freakish ability in his highlights but the thing that worries me about him is that all of his big games came against dogs like Georgia State, Akron and Troy.

Terence Williams on the other hand beat up every team he played. Not one bad game this year.
His worst game was 6 for 71 against Okla. State. Thats just insane!

Most of his games were 130 yards to 190 yards

Wheaton and Quinton Patton would both be nice draft picks if we wait til round 3 for a receiver.
Either of them with Mike Wallace would be a huge jolt to this offense

There are no real playmaking WR's in the draft. (Other then Tavon Austin.. But who knows if he make it in the pros) A bunch of potentially good #2s. I'm sure there will be a hidden gem somewhere. I think it might be Cobi Hamilton. Who I think would excel in our scheme.

DeAndre Hopkins has a shot of going into the first round. He could solidify that by going back to school, but he could also risk a drop-off, so this is a decent decision.

My dream scenario would be one where we trade back into the mid 20s and pick up an extra 2nd round pick. Then we draft either Hunter or Williams in the 1st round. Then we make the move and get Woods in the 2nd. That way we add a big guy and a burner. We'd then add Jennings through free agency and be absolutely stacked at the position.

I'm a die hard Noles fan and I live in Maryland where they show almost every ACC game and I will assure you DeAndre Hopkins and slow should not be in the same sentence!

I have been saying the EXACT same thing...great minds must think a like. I posted a thread with the same preference on finheaven a few days ago, it'd be the absolute best approach if a guy like Mingo isn't still around at 12.

Miami has 10 picks in this draft, 5 of first 100. I don't think they need to trade down for additional picks. Miami has enough picks and needs to concentrate on QUALITY talent.

Who do you have in mind for that 12th spot?

I agree with you. If anything I think Miami should look to trade up to get the impact or difference makers if the evaluators see anyone worthy.

I voted for Terrence Williams too. That kid makes big plays and is a gamer. Reminds me of Michael Crabtree a bit and he would add value to the offense.

Normally I am against trading up, but Miami is now in a spot where it makes sense. If the right guy is out of reach, trade up to get him. Get an impact player.

Also, the logic of the original comment was wrong anyway. IF there is a compensatory pick for Jake Long, it won't be received until 2014, not this draft.

I think Miami is fine at the 12th pick. They're going to get someone very good whether it be D-line, O-line or receiving threat.

I'd be comfortable with them giving up a 3rd rounder to move up in Round 2 or into the late 1st round.

Read today where the hair helmet Mel Kiper suggested Miami consider Tyler Eifert or Cordarrelle Patterson with their first pick.

I don't take Eifert that high, and as talented as Patterson is, he is raw. I am starting to agree with swerve on his 1st pick of Ezekial Ansah, the freakish DE from BYU. Especially if the Dolphins sign a free agent WR, say Mike Wallace. I still would look to bring in a WR like Cobi Hamilton in the 2nd round.

I completely agree with that. Create a strength out of the position, instead of the glaring weakness it has been. And we don't have to ignore other needs to do it, as we have the picks to attend to other needs as well.

exactly, #12 is a prime spot to land a gamechanger, even a franchise changer (Ezekial Ansah, Alex Okafor, terence Williams, Jonathan Banks)

Terrance Williams at 12? That is a major reach, most draft boards I have come across have him falling in the early 2nd round, others in the late 1st.

I said this the other day, I would give up #12 and a 2nd rounder to go up and get either Damontre Moore or Bjoern Werner.

I'm projecting. I think he's gonna rise after he gets poked and prodded at workouts.
Happens all the time. When front offices really examine the season he had he will rise on boards.
