Post 2013 Miami Dolphins Draft picks
1st Round- #3 Overall-TRADE-UP WITH RAIDERS-DE - Dion Jordan - Oregon -Tall end/linebacker hybrid with excellent length. Definitely not contact-shy, extends his long arms to land a strong punch on blockers, can disengage to chase plays from behind or grab ballcarriers coming into his area. Also willing to mix it up when challenged. Long strides allow him to cover ground quickly when closing or after his strong get-off with his hand down, but also shows enough bend and short-area quickness to avoid linemen. Lines up against slot receivers and tight ends, managing to stay with them in the open field in spite of his size. Flashes quickness and bend to beat tackles around the corner, can counter with an inside rush or spin move. Also quick enough to flatten down the line to make plays on inside runs. Willing to stick his shoulder into a lead blocker to free up other defenders.

1st Round-#12 Overall-TRADE-UP WITH RAIDERS- SWAP

2nd Round-#42 Overall-To Raiders- TRADE-UP WITH RAIDERS-

2nd Round- #54 Overall from Colts- CB-Jamar Taylor- Boise St. Taylor earned a starting job in 2010 (35 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles) and also started the first nine games of 2011 before a stress fracture in his leg forced him to sit four full games plus most of another. He returned at less than 100 percent for the Broncos Las Vegas Bowl win over Arizona State, returning an interception 100 yards for a touchdown (he finished the year with 27 tackles, two for loss, two INT, six pass breakups). As a senior, Taylor started every game while registering 51 total tackles, 3.5 went for loss including 2.5 sacks. He added nine pass breakups, four interceptions, and three forced fumbles. His senior season earned him first-team All-Mountain West honors.

3rd Round-#77 Overall- G/OT- Dallas Thomas- Univ. Tenn. -Displays the potential to start as either a tackle or guard in the NFL. Plays with natural bend in the knees, and flexbility. Possesses excellent agility. Can sit down into his blocks and anchor. Can block down yet spring back outside to cut off outside blitzers, also gets to second level quickly and shows good speed and hustle downfield. Very good at pulling, and is always attempting to drive his assignment to the ground. Maintains balance while extending his arms to keep outside rushers out of the pocket, does not give up after initial contact. Good recovery speed to cut off spin and inside counter moves. Goes out to meet his man and packs a punch to stop their momentum. Comes off the ball very well from a three-point stance in the run game.

3rd Round-#82 Overall from Chicago- TRADED TO SAINTS
3rd Round-#93 Overall From Green Bay- CB- Will Davis- Utah St. - Solid frame for the position. Possesses light, quick feet. Extremely fluid and coordinated athlete, changes direction well. Good balance and hips. Has the ability to drive on the football and break up passes. Tracks the football and can get his hands on the deep throw. Uses his hands through the route, not afraid to get physical, but is not overly grabby. Limited football experience. Could stand to add more weight and strength. Overaggressive nature. Susceptible to getting beat by double moves. Lacks the recovery speed to catch up to a receiver that has run by him. Has issues with beating blocks from the receiver. Will lower his head and give sub-par tackling efforts.

4th Round-#7 in round-Swap with Browns for Davone Bess-Jelani Jenkins, LB, Florida

4th Round-#9 in round-From Saints-Dion Sims, TE, Michigan State

5th Round-#31in round- From 49ers through Browns for Davone Bess- Mike Gillislee, RB, Florida

5th Round- #33 in round (comp. pick)- Caleb Sturgis, K, Florida

7th Round- #44 in round (comp. pick) -Don Jones, S, Arkansas State

They have 2 7th round picks, but not a 6th from Indy. It was a conditional and Ben Volin is saying he didn't play enough.

According to his article here it was a 7th from Dallas....

http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thedaily ... situation/

Then I read this:
Quote:
Ben Volin‏@BenVolinPBP

Indy Star reported on Dec. 15 that #Dolphins don't receive #Colts 6th round pick because Vontae Davis didn't play enough in 2012

I'll leave it up till I read something official.

Yeah I don't know. Conditional is usually a pick regardless, it's just either the higher or lower round. So since it's not a 6, it should still be a 7.

Who knows. They do have a 7th from Dallas for Ryan Cook though.

Wow is all I can say about the Dion Jordan pick. I didn't see that coming at all. While I knew we were going to look at a pass rusher, I had no idea we'd go after the top pass rusher in the draft. And to only give up the 42nd pick to do it, great move by Ireland. Hopefully the Dolphins will have two double digit sack masters this year! I'm excited to see what this kid can do. I've heard comparisons to Jason Taylor.
