68 targets, 41 catches.. I remember the same, however someone mentioned him dropping a few in the PS that we may be remembering..

Also it would be what they consider "catchable"

He dropped a lot in the Pre Season. That might be what you're thinking of.

And it's not hard to catch passes off of 5 hard curls and out patterns...

He caught 1 pass all season.....ONE.....that was thrown more than 10 yards in the air.

That stat is just sad.

Welker catches 100 5 yd curls every year

118 catches for 1350 yards is a lot more 5 yard curls than Fasano catches...

He has the highest amount of catches with the least amount of yards since joining the Dolphins. So apparently he is capable of more than we ask of him...

I still think the problem with Fasano is he is constantly staying in the assist in blocking, then letting off at the last moment for the short pattern

Maybe he's lost a step... and he didn't have much of a step to begin with.

Even before this season, the tight end position for the Dolphins could have used an upgrade. The last time the Dolphins had any serious threat at tight end was when they had Fasano and David Martin together on the field.

Upgrade or not, he lost that much of a step between last year and this year? He's only 28 and it's not like the dude had suffered major injuries.

How is it so preposterous that the scheme wasn't using him correctly? I don't recall Sherman/Tanny utilizing that position all that much at A&M.

If he lost a step that's a reasonable reason, however I am not too sold on that being he was not injured that I am aware of.

Fasano is a blocking tight end with solid hands, and that's about it.
He's no real threat to defenses, much like the rest of our receivers. This whole core can stand to be upgraded.

Rich I agree, I don't buy the title of this thread as I recall a few passes in the regular season that were catchable passes dropped by Fasano. He had a decent season, but regardless, Fasano is a good #2 tight end for the fins and not the seam threat that they need period. This is a position that must be upgraded during the off season. I'm not sure if this is his contract year, but I certainly don't bring him back for more than back up money and spend on someone that will make a bigger impact on offense.
