What Will be the Surprise Move
I was thinking about this and since 2007 there has always been a surprise draft pick (usually a guy who falls in the draft), signing or trade that none of us saw coming or predicted (sometimes multiple). Some bigger than others. Lets recap (and I'm sure I'll miss some):
2007 - Draft Ginn 2008 - Draft Merling (fall example), Trade for Fasano, Sign Pennington 2009 - Draft White 2010 - Trade for Marshall 2011 - Can't remember with lockout 2012 - Draft Martin (fall example)
I started thinking a trade for Miles Austin might be this year's move. Another one floated out there by O Kelly was if the Chiefs draft Joekel then perhaps Eric Winston could be dealt for a low round pick.
So I'm asking for your best guess and to think outside the box. What is that one move where we will say WOW?

Re: What Will be the Surprise Move
How about this for a WOW sequence in the draft:
The Jets surprisingly take Tavon Austin at 9 to give their QB a playmaker. The Rams, fearing the Chargers and Dolphins might be eyeing Patterson swap picks with the Titans and grab Patterson. The Bucs, needing a good CB and sensing Miami is ready for Rhodes, swaps picks with the Chargers to take him. Miami is left wondering what to do.
Everyone assumes Ireland will take the best possible pass rusher but instead he takes Jonathan Cooper to be the pulling guard the o-line desperately needs.
Enter collective groan from the fanbase.

Re: What Will be the Surprise Move
I would be shocked if Miami doesn't sign either Wallace or Jennings and ends up having to draft a #1 WR.

Unless Ireland has something very tricky up his sleeve I'm thinking Ross will give him the green light to pay Wallace almost whatever to come to Miami. You add Wallace and a seam threat TE (legit that is) to Hartline and Bess and this offense will produce TDs. Maybe those are the two big FA buys - Wallace and Cook/Keller/Bennett/Davis/Myers. All else is addressed in the draft. Back to the topic, I don't think there will be a surprise signing now that Starks and Hartline are chewing up some cap. I think its going to be a guy available at 42 that none of us expected (maybe Damontre Moore).

Re: What Will be the Surprise Move
I'd say the surprise move that probably isn't too huge a surprise to anyone but their own fan base is the Phins taking another offensive lineman at #12.

If the Dolphins sign Wallace and Cook and pick up some other free agents to address corner and maybe pass rusher, would it really be that surprising?

Probably not but I'm just anticipating the "boos" from the Phins fans. I myself wouldn't be too happy but would understand the move.

Re: What Will be the Surprise Move
I just can't imagine the first round pick going for a lineman. We probably don't have the money to lock up free agents to fill all the other more desperate needs....a pass rusher, a cornerback (or two), a WR, a TE.
