Late Round / Undrafted QB Option?
This kid seems like he was pretty legit when he wasn't being a typical college kid... http://www.thepostgame.com/features/201 ... d-cusp-nflI would see no problem with taking a late round or undrafted flier on him. 6'5" 235 and beat up on some good competition when he was starting.

Kicked off the team for drinking?
Oh, what a bad person...drinking in college under the age of 21.
Eh. Stories like this come out too often. They never pan out.

Not 1 but 3 separate issues with alcohol including a boating DUI. Hopefully he is doing better now.

Why when Pat Devlins developing?

Why when Pat Devlins developing? Because you can never have enough competition at QB. Stick him on the practice squad like we did Devlin and if Devlin doesn't prove to be a reliable backup we have another QB developing. Or, on a more positive note, if Devlin works out well we might be able to get some compensation for him and still have another guy we developed. The good teams do this all the time...

Bring him in for a workout, see where his head is at. If he looks good, then invite him to camp (as an undrafted free agent). If he plays good, sign him to the practice squad. Beyond that we'd probably be taking too big of a risk.

Too big a risk on a kid who was just being a typical college student?
Eh, I'm not an advocate for drunk driving at all... I think he's an idiot for doing it... but if he's still half as talented as he was before the whole fiasco he's well worth bringing in and seeing what he's got.
