I think addressing a younger faster change at the linebacker position was very smart and especially given the fact that you need to cover athletic tight ends like NE has etc as well as more motors to get after the QB.. This plan you can see is not close to being done and I expect through the rest of free agency and the draft that corner, safety, tight end and offensive line moves are still coming. The only mild disappointment was not landing Cook, but there are still plenty of players looming that can make immediate impacts.

The fact that they have a number one pick, two 2's and 2 3's in the draft says more potential high impact players will be added to the mix. This is the best shape I have seen this team in a VERY long time in terms of talent and then when you think cap space and even how next year looks keeping Miami out of financial distress. If they turn around and become a playoff team this year, Ireland really accomplished his goals.

NOW, let's see this team actually take it to the next level!!!

It's almost a givin now that the 12th pick will be used on defense. (Werner/Rhodes)

I'd love for them to get Chris Houston and/or Cary Williams. Then draft Rhodes, a tall corner with excellent coverage skills.

It could turn out that we take several defensive backs in the draft. I'd love to see us get Xavier Rhodes in the 1st, David Amerson in the 2nd, Bacarri Rambo in the 3rd, and Tyrann Mathieu in the 5th. That way Coyle can mold them to his system. With the rest of the picks we'd just need to snag a tightend, a couple of offensive linemen, and defensive depth.

Replace Amerson with Banks or Jordan Poyer

supposely Amerson is being viewed as a lower round pick. He got exposed this year in coverage.

If Amerson is available in the middle rounds I'd love to get him. After the 2nd round he becomes a steal in my opinion. I see a lot of the same things out of him that I saw in Sean Smith coming out of college, but this kid has way better hands and ballhawking skills. This is a kid that if we find a nice niche for him he could play right away in my opinion. Or I'd love to see us convert him to a free safety and let him compete with Clemons. With his size and ballhawking ability he'd make a great free safety.
