Wow do these guys overvalue themselves or what? Maybe it's the agents and/or both. Come back to MIA, prove you can still play and see what happens.

Re: Long leaves Rams without a deal
Dolphins beat the rams last year. So glad we ended up with Philbin instead of jeff fisher and his 1970's cop/porn mustache. If I remember correctly, Tannehill had a great game, and the only bright spot for the rams was Brandon Gibson. I would love it if we signed Gibson.
I would love to keep Long, but not at a huge price. I am concerned about his durability.

Re: Long leaves Rams without a deal
I would have no issue with the Dolphins signing Long to a one or two year deal for a reasonable amount of money. But no way do I give the guy anything close to $10M and no way do I give the guy anything over three years. He's just too much of a risk at this point.
Here is the deal I'd offer Long: 1 year $8M ($4M guaranteed) 2 years $14M ($7M guaranteed)
If Long stays healthy, he gets all of the $8M or $14M. But if he doesn't play at least 15 games each season, he gets half.

Re: Long leaves Rams without a deal
Long may never get back to what he used to be. He just blew his chance of a big payday, and if no one else wants him, he will come back to Miami on Miami's terms. Great strategy by Jeff Ireland on this one.
And if Miami uses up the rest of their cap by signing other guys, Jake may find himself out of work.
