Jake Long back to Miami seems to be gaining steam
Here are a few tweets from Jason LaCanfora and Rotoworld.com

The longer things string out w/these tackles - Long, Smith, Vollmer - more likely it is they don't have any offer strong enuff to leave for
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora
Dolphins continue attempts to retain him and it doesn't sound like the Rams have been inclined to jack up their offer substantially.

Jake Long and his wife have spent time in the Dolphins facility since returning home from St. Louis, I'm told, including today.
The Palm Beach Post reports that "momentum appears to be growing" for free agent left tackle Jake Long to re-sign with the Dolphins. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora adds that Long has been at the Dolphins' facility since he flew back to Miami on Friday night. The Dolphins are reportedly "making a charge" to sign Long, but the money isn't expected to be close to what he wants -- $10 million annually. Long's offensive line teammates are campaigning for a return, but in the end money talks. $8 million annually might be the best he gets.

Long, Incognito, Pouncey, Jerry, Martin....give the Dolphins a very solid OL.

Jerry is the one that sounds like he will get competition and replaced. Would love to see Miami bring Long back AND somehow get Winston too.

You know, with Long, Incognito, and Pouncey on the left side I just can't figure out why the quarterback gets so much pressure and the running backs don't have a lot of room to run. Matt Moore and Ryan Tannehill both had good composure despite the pressure, but it was not good.

Re: Jake Long back to Miami seems to be gaining steam
Jonathan Martin is a big key to this offensive line, whether it be OLT or ORT. Did not matter what side he was on last year, he got overpowered. I seen him doing work to get stronger in his lower body, so I will be interested in seeing how he looks. He has got to get better though.
I don't think there is any question that John Jerry will face competition, if not be replaced out right this year.
Would love to get Jake back at the price the Dolphins have set for him. I think it a fair price and matches up with what St. Louis has offered because of no state taxes.

"We're still chatting," he said, affirming that the Rams feel as though they still have a shot at landing the four-time Pro Bowl left tackle.
Long, who turns 28 in May, spent three days in St. Louis before returning to Miami without a contract. The Dolphins remain in the mix to re-sign him.
Snead would not get into specifics regarding negotiations or concerns over Long's injury history. In general, though, he said injury concerns were not a factor from the Rams' standpoint.
"What I'll say is, health is not a problem," Snead said.
... http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/ ... l-chattingWhile his health may not be a problem per se his injury history surely is being taken into consideration or I think he would already be signed somewhere.

I agree AQNOR. If the Rams did truly feel that Jake health was not an issue, they would have offered a contract that Long would not have had to even think a second about signing. Hopefully Long makes a decision one way or the other early next week so the Dolphins can move on. Sebastian Vollmer is a kid that I think can play the OLT position, and then you have Eric Winston, who can be bought in to play ORT and move Martin over if need be.

This from Jason LaCanfora a few moments ago...Take it for what it worth.
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora
Buzz I am hearing among GMs is that Jake Long will end up back in Miami. Rams still in the hunt but this isn't wreaking of a bidding war Details

Re: Jake Long back to Miami seems to be gaining steam
If we resign him we should also draft a developmental tackle in round 3 to replace him 2 years from now.
