Post Pittsburgh will be much worse without Wallace
Quote:
Ben Roethlisberger anticipates Mike Wallace's departure having a noticeable and negative effect on the Steelers' offense.
Wallace is often criticized as a one-trick-pony deep threat, but the fact that he tilted coverage and commanded double teams made Wallace a valuable piece in Pittsburgh's offense. "On the field, he was something special," Big Ben explained. "People don’t realize how important it is to have a guy with his ability on the football field. ... Safeties have to respect Mike’s speed. Cornerbacks and the defense are scheming to stop Mike Wallace going deep. It opens up other receivers, so to lose a guy like that is really going to be tough for all of us."

Yes but to pick up a guy like that for your team is nothing but desperate and reckless.

The Steelers will be just fine.

The Steelers do a great job of acquiring talent. I suspect they have already targeted a replacement. They don't make a lot of bad football decisions.

that team has been on the decline. Old defense and average offense.

again , they were in 2 recent super bowls winning one of them & winning in 2006. if i were a steeler fan i would say the decline at some point has to happen. as a dolphin fan i would not gloat about their decline but also as a dolphin fan i would welcome that decline if it meant having success like that. i tend to agree that that organization will not be on the decline very long , they have maybe the best coach in the league (besides philbin of course) and are just a stellar organization. maybe the blue print for a nfl franchise. rothlesberger has to get over losing wallace , they never wanted to resign him.
