Per the Palm Beach Post, Dolphins K Dan Carpenter's roster spot is "at risk."
Carpenter, 27, made 22-of-27 field goals last season, but a couple of the missed attempts led to losses. The Dolphins are reportedly "high" on two draft-eligible kickers in Florida's Caleb Sturgis and Florida State's Dustin Hopkins. The Dolphins could save $3 million against the cap by cutting Carpenter.

And can be had for a 6th or 7th rounder if not an UDFA. And would cost a helluva lot less than what Carpenter is being paid.

If they are. I find it hard to believe that fans are ragging on DC for missing 50 Yd FGs

for 3 million dollars Carpenter is just an above average kicker. Would love a young kicker with a cannon leg. Would feel more confident in those close games. Kickers are huge for playoff success.

We've got two 7th round picks. Draft both kickers in the 7th and let them compete to see who gets to replace Carpenter.
