CBS sports is reporting a trade is nearly complete, sending Revis to the Bucs.

Assuming they get the Bucs first round pick, got to think they'll use one of their first round picks on a QB.

I think they take a corner first, then draft a QB- Barkley or Smith if he were still available.

not necessarily. One will definitely be on a corner (Milliner) and the other could be for a playmaker they so desperately need (Austin)
Rex has to win now to save his job. A rookie QB isn't going to help his case. I think round 2 is more likely for a QB.

I can see the Jets going Mingo with the 9th pick, Rhodes with the 13th pick. The Jets like bump and run cover corners as they have Antonio Cromartie on the other side.

Jets really need pass rush. Yes, they do need a WR, but they got a lot of money invested in one Santonio Holmes. They certainly could look at taking Tavon Austin, so we will see. They could use a TE as they lost Dustin Keller to Miami.

I will be shocked and thrilled if they use one of their two picks on a QB. Geno Smith will most likely be off the board by the time they pick again at 13 (they'll use the 9th pick on either a CB or Tavon). Matt Barkley, Landry Jones, E.J. Manuel, Ryan Nassib, Tyler Wilson, Tyler Bray. Those are the QB's that will be left. Not a single one of those guys is, right now, worthy of a top 15 pick.

I also heard they love Mingo Tony. And I hope they take him because i don't think he;s that good.

The trade is complete:

Quote:
The New York Jets on Sunday traded Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 13th overall pick in Thursday night's draft and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2014 that could become a 3rd-round pick, per sources close to the Pro-Bowl cornerback.

Next year's conditional fourth-round pick could become a third if Revis is on the Buccaneers' roster on the third day of the 2014 league year.

Revis signed a six-year, $96 million extension that includes no guaranteed money but makes him the highest paid defensive back in NFL history and one of the two highest-paid defensive players along with Mario Williams, per sources. The new contract replaces his former contract.

Quote:
The final obstacle to the deal was completed Sunday, when Revis flew on a private plane from New Jersey to Tampa to undergo a physical that included a comprehensive checkup on his knee.

He passed it, making the trade official

No guaranteed money? That's not something you see every day

I'm surprised as well. With all the B.S. he gave the Jest about getting paid, taking a contract with out guaranteed $$ is a head scratcher.

Another injury and they will cut him and owe him nothing and take no cap hit as well. Win/win for the Bucs.

It's not all bad for Revis either, let's be fair. If he's healthy and productive he's going to be making $16 million a year, so it's not like he's not making any money here.

The Jets have a ton of needs. Even with a pair of 1st round picks they'll still be fighting with Buffalo at the bottom of the AFC East. I think we sweep them this year.

The Jets are awful with or without Revis. They had no choice but to trade him. The guy seems never happy with a contract that he agreed to & something tells me that in a year or 2 he wont be happy with this contract as well. It would have been nice to see Tannehill burn him twice a year though.
