Hey Guys,

Looong time, no post. I'm not the draft guru some of you are, but I just got done watching the dolphins.com analysis of the pick videos for Taylor and Davis. With those two, along with Grimes, it sure looks like we've put more of an emphasis on ball skills with our secondary this year. I don't think I could stomach any more wasted opportunities for Sean Smith to get a pick.

If the pass rush can improve with the addition of Jordan, and hopefully Vernon making strides, I sure like our chances of creating more turnovers this season.

Just thought I'd share my thoughts going into day 3.

Turnovers, even interceptions, are usually the result of pressure on the QB. I think Dion will help create turnovers more than any CB.

That said, you're right. Davis has pretty good ball skills; his biggest strength, IMO. That's one thing I like about him. Taylor also has nice hands and jumps on the ball well.

The defense was pathetic last year at creating turnovers. Ridiculously pathetic. They need to create more, no question. They will with these additions.

Brent Grimes alone should create a few turnovers. Guy can put 6' between his feet and the earth.

I feel a Homie da Clown comment is appropriate here.

I like both rookie's chances of starting right away (yes, I'm counting the nickel as starting. In today's NFL, you're in 3,4, and 5 CB sets pretty much from whistle to whistle).

Nice Video. Sean Smith wouldn't have known the ball was there until it hit him in the back of the head.

Well, if the cornerbacks are more physical on the line and the pass rush is fierce, then you would hope to see a vast improvement in pass defense. Our first round pick plays to our strength and should give Wake a monster year of sacks. The corners are the question mark for me.

Brent Grimes is not a question mark. He is a proven Pro Bowl caliber asset. It's the other side I worry about.

Any guy coming off injury is a question mark to me and that gives Grimes a big fat question mark. Two injury plagued seasons and a torn Achilles does not guarantee you got a starter......

Remember Culpepper.....

Eh... I only recall one. Achilles week 1 last year. He'll be fine, no question mark here.

Well....he played with the bad knee for weeks before taking the surgery route and ending his season. If he can stay on the field and play at the level he is capable of, then yes....we have a great CB. The injuries have to concern you. I am hoping he becomes and ironman for the team. It is about time the Dolphins catch a friggin' break.

The injuries have to be a concern because this wasn't his first one. One injury and I'm not concerned, but when they start to mount is when I'm concerned

Well, they hit the weakness with a lot of talent so we'll see what happens. I kind of liked this pickup last year Patterson, Dimitri Didn't get to see much of him but I thought he represented himself well in the nickle spot. Grimes will be a defacto starter unless he's beaten out. Marshall is the one I would think is on the bubble here. Anyway, good problem to have...two talented rookies, a talented vet coming off injury and two other serviceable guys.
