What about Club Liv? darn it!

LOL , yeah a round of drinks in there should pay for upgrades. Not to mention admission , or maybe garnish tips from the hired (ahem) help.

“In the weeks ahead, I will do all I can to convince my fellow owners to bring the Super Bowl back to Miami-Dade,” Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said. “The Bid Committee has done a tremendous job to give us a great shot.”

But will the Dolphins really go hard after the games? It’s fair to wonder now that the renovation plans are dead.

A big part of the Dolphins’ plea to the public and to legislators was that South Florida will not be able to compete for big events – such as Super Bowls, college football championships and the like – without an upgraded stadium.

If the NFL awards a Super Bowl to South Florida in two weeks, it would completely undermine the Dolphins’ efforts from the past year. Not getting the Super Bowl will allow the Dolphins to say, “See? Told you so.”

Ross won’t be upgrading the stadium now, but he certainly could try again for public funding in a few years. And losing a few Super Bowl votes could help his cause.
