Wow, now this is interersting. I thought it was the other way around.

Keller, who signed a one-year, $4.5 million deal, said he declined a multiyear offer from Miami because after missing eight games last season, “my worth wasn’t where I think it was at. So I took a gamble on myself and said I’m better than everyone thinks I am. This is where I want to be longterm. But I want to prove to them I’m better than last year.”

You can't blame the guy. I hope he is able to stay healthy and put up big numbers for Miami this year.

I agree Bobby. I don't blame him for taking a chance on himself at all. I think if he has a solid year, the Dolphins will sign him to a extended contract, a 2-3 year deal.

One of the ESPN guys actually tweeted this story right after the signing when people were questioning why Miami wouldn't give him a long term deal. Keller is looking to cash in.

I remember Ireland saying that they gave him two deals and Keller chose the 1 year deal

This is probably the same case with Grimes and Clabo as well. I think Grimes, Keller, and Clabo all took one year deals with the Dolphins because they knew they would be walking into a starting job that would potentially land them a bigger deal next year. While I don't doubt that they all would like to play in Miami long term. I think they're hoping that a bounce back 2013 will land them more money in 2014, whether its in Miami or not.

If we can only keep one of them, and assuming that they're fully recovered from injuries, I hope it's Grimes.
