Post Running back rankings?
Just looking purely at preseason here's my list.

1. Miller - Just too talented to take off the field except when he needs a rest.
2. J. Gray - Right now, he gets the edge. He appears a step faster than Thomas and I've yet to see the first guy bring him down.
3. Thomas - Still runs hard but his salary and the fact there's not much difference production wise between him and gillisee could mean he is cut.
4. Gillisee - He reminds me of Thomas....which isn't good.

I wouldn't put Gray 2nd only because he's been very stiff running the ball. Yeah he pounds it and picks up yards... but D Thomas showed much more shiftiness against Jax than Gray or Gillislee.

I liked what I saw from the rookie against Dallas, but he brought me back down to earth against Jax. Hopefully it was more poor blocking than poor running.

Gillisleee's the 2nd best back in this team.

I think Thomas is the 2nd best back and will see significant time this year at that position.

I think this group would really benefit from a veteran... I wonder if the team would go sign a guy like Willis McGahee if there continues to be question marks behind Miller? I think Gray makes a great practice squad candidate and a clear replacement for McGahee next season as he gets another year clear from his knee injury.

Daniel Thomas just seems to be what he is at this point -- a clear miss by Jeff Ireland.

I think as of right now Daniel Thomas is the number two back. All of their practices indicate that as well plus if you keep reading Philbin's comments, he is still high up on Thomas.

I like Gray and he has been fairly productive during the preseason games, but Thomas also ran hard during his time against Jacksonville and showed a lot more than he did in that first game against Dallas. If he keeps running like that he will benefit the fins this season.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see Miller, Thomas and Gillislee as the three Miami keeps on the roster with Gray as the odd man out. Factor in Thigpen as a returner slash back role too.

PR/KR, in 2012 we ranked # 2 in kick returns by avg, Thigpen had over 1000 yards...

He is technichally a half back, he can play WR or RB, but hes not going to make the roster for just one of those.
He can be a back up adding depth, while contributing on special teams in a big way..

And that is my point..surely if he is that good in the return game there must be a package for him to be getting the ball during game? If not we are not using guys strengths.

Danny friggen Woodhead gets the ball.......They are not using this guys talents

That seems to be a common trend among Dolphins teams.

Watching the Bills offense click so well on Sunday with a rookie QB was killer.

Maybe, but I'm not seeing it on the field.

I guess one of my disappointments with RT is his lack of want-to when it comes to taking off and running against man coverage.
