Post Scouting the AFC East
Well, I reviewed the first quarter action of the AFC East and here's some quick hits:
1. The Jets really suck. They might be the doormat of the league this year.
2. Patriots OL really killed it running the football against Philly (granted Philly's D is questionable) but they ran the ball 7 or 8 straight times and got it in the endzone. Their defense still questionable in the passing game as Vick torched them on the first drive. Their rookie LCB appears to be in learning mode. Their defensive front is still pretty stout against the run.
3. Bills are a mixed bag. Their new QB is very athletic and fast. When he takes off downfield he is easily winning that foot race. He also throws decent. Their defense was active and plays fast and it appears Williams is playing better. I can see them being better this year.

Raiders, Jets, Jags and Eagles will be picking 1 thru 4 in the 2014 draft.

I think the Bills will be an up and down team but will pull some upsets, They have alot of speed and athleticism.

Philly won't be that bad.

Agree with the other 3. San Diego is going to be pretty horrendous too.

I think the Jets will be down, but as far as the AFC East is concerned, Miami will still be in dog fights with each of their division rivals. You generally expect that each year no matter how good or bad one is simply due to the fact that these teams know each other so well.

I think Buffalo is the one that could be more improved and they do seem to be fairly athletic.

The Patriots.....well for the last ten years we have wanted to knock them off and even in 2008 when we took the division out of nowhere, the Pats still without Brady finished 11-5. They are like a bad penny that won't go away.

Right now it is the offensive line that makes me nervous for the fins.

The Eagles new defense spreads the lineman very wide...They will never stop the run doing that.....

That being said the Patriots had a very good run game last year and you will see alot more of it this season......But Ridley likes to put the ball on the ground and health is an issue....Their o line looked very bad last preseason but gelled as year went on..Hope we can do that.

The Patriots are relying on a host of players that have injury filled pasts...

The only comforting thought I have with the Pats is that if Brady goes down we won't see Mallett or Tebow carrying them to 11-5. I wouldn't be shocked if they tried to sign a veteran backup at some point.

I ALMOST feel bad for the Jets. Then I think about their fanbase and the obnoxious personalities they have had on the team. Loving their demise (insert Jersey fist pump).

The Bills could be tough. Manuel has some weapons and if he can read a defense they might surprise a few teams.

The Patriots drafted Mallet to trade and the rumors pop up occasionally that a team like Cleveland is interested..... What a joke..He has shown nothing and it looks like the Patriots yet again wasted an early round pick......
The Jets will still have a good defense but Sanchez has nothing around him for help, and he needs plenty of that..They are in trouble

Teams likely to get underestimated?
Bills
Browns
St Louis
J'ville if they start Henne. He's not great, never will be, but he's steady and if their defense is as improved as it looked the other night, they could win 6-8 games.
Washington - Yes they were good last year but a healthy, smarter RGIII means they could be lightening in a bottle.

Over-valued
Eagles...yes even after 4-12
Broncos - Peyton Manning isn't mobile and is going to take a few shots this season. His arm strength faded down the stretch and late in games.
Colts - If Luck and the offense go through a slump, they have nothing else.

One thing that strikes fear into my heart about this statement:

"With the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select DE Jadevon Clowney of South Carolina"
