They're saying hyper extended knee, but I can see a diagnosis of a torn ACL coming here soon...this does not look good. This sucks, big time. Without him, I am predicting no playoffs this year.

He only signed a one-year contract.

It is at minimum, a very bad hyper extension.... but I think the MRI will show a ligament tear.

Let's hope for the best.

If there isn't a tear it'll be a miracle. The knee didn't just bend back, it also went to the side. It hurt to watch, in more than one way

Sources are reporting both an ACL and MCL tear. His career may be over.

Looking at it again...it looks like he snapped his freaking leg. This is a colossal mess right now...this screwed us BIG TIME. Very few players that would mean more to this team than him.

How could sources report that? The only way that could be confirmed is with an MRI - and that doesn't happen in the locker room.

That injury was ugly as hell. I think that he will be out a while.

Great.

Not that I knew he'd blow out his knee, but crap like this is why I wanted us to double down on the position and draft somebody with some talent.

This is a big blow, even if it's not season ending. Egnew... Sims.... Clay...

Who has a spare TE out there?

The season is over because Miami lost their TE?

That actually means Tannehill sucks, the ground game is useless, there was no point in signing Mike Wallace or Brandon Gibson, and Hartline should never have been re-signed...if the season hinged on a TE who was actually an after thought when Miami failed to land Jared Cook.

I get it, losing Keller sucks big time. He was a weapon. But it doesn't mean Miami can't find a TE to fill the void, even if they aren't as good as Keller. The team still has potential on offense and last I checked Tannehill and Wallace were looking pretty good tonight.

Some trainers and team doctors have been around long enough to know a freak injury when they see one, before an MRI is being performed. I'm sure they will want to do an MRI to confirm everything.

Randy Mac is available. Let's hope he doesn't beat up his wife again.

Todd Heap is also available. If Keller is out for the season, he'd certainly be a guy we would bring in for a work out. Good blocker, even if his pass catching has declined.

Let's not play with superlatives.

The whole point of having a guy like Keller was for gutting the seam and then we have Wallace threatening over the top. It was supposed to create a HUGE mismatch in the secondary, especially with who to bracket.

Losing him is extremely impactful to the offense. Now Wallace is going to be seeing a lot more double coverage than he would've.

Who does Miami bring in once he gets his injury? Might as well go for that guy instead of the injury prone Heap. 13 games in 2 Yrs @ 33 yrs old. Pass.

I thought the same thing seeing the Marcus Lattimore injury last college football season and that ended up a lot less severe that anticipated. Hopefully this will be too.

You'd think people would understand. The situation is not good.

Horrible, horrible. We do have some young guys at TE and one of them needs to step up.

When player's careers are ended because of knee injuries as a result of this line of thinking, the NFL will change the rules and allow high hits again.

Its not that people don't understand, its the end of the world mentality. It stinks he's hurt, but there is a possibility someone else can be grabbed off the waiver wire or acquired in a trade.

When you predict no playoffs because of a TE you are suggesting that this is a really bad team.

Watching the game again and seeing Tanne hooking up with Wallace and Gibson, starting to build that chemistry, Keller may have out that unit over the top if that type of play continued.

Sucks for sure, sad to see it. I really liked Keller here.

But I am not cashing out yet.. They selected them, they can develop them. Stop letting these coaches off the hook.

Nothing wrong with hitting high. Its the ones that go for the head that is the issue. There is a middle section.

I had Keller as a break out player this year. I know he was a one yr rental for Miami but really wanted to see him perform for Miami.

Funny you said that. I was watching Brady carve up the Bucs D the other night and he lost all his receivers! It's not the end of the world losing Keller, it sucks, but not the end.

If Tannehill develops like we all hope, this will be an inconvenience but not a disaster. Really good QBs make due with what they have and make their receivers look better than they are. If Tannehill doesn't develop, it won't have mattered if Keller was healthy or not.

Not to say we wouldn't have been better with him; I thought he was destined for a big year, too. (I've already drafted him in a bunch of leagues as a sleeper TE). It's a shame, mostly for the human aspect; you hate to see this happen to the guy.

The injury is ugly and tragic but it is part of football. You cannot make this a safe sport and meddling with the rules is hurting the sport. I would not be surprised if this injury effectively ends Keller's career. I think it is time to bring in Todd Heap. The only silver lining is that this is still preseason there is a lot of time to recover from this and retool the offense.

Losing a good player hurts any team. The patriots have lost more players than the Dolphins, but they were at a higher level to begin with. The Dolphins losing Keller is huge. They would have been better with him than without him.

But its not the end of the world.

There are two more preseason games and time for them to prepare.

I'd rather start the season with Egnew or Clay replacing a TE on a one-year deal, than for the same injury to Wallace and be wondering how well he can play next season.

I believe Kevin Boss is also available. He is 29 and has produced in this league. He's had some concussion issues though.

He's an option, but I would love for one of our young TEs to step up.

We're using Brady and the Patriots to attempt to make us feel better?

Lemme know when Tannehill starts playing at that level so that I can quickly dismiss a major injury like this.
