Post Offensive Line
Thus far this preseason, Jonathan Martin is the top rated left tackle in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus.

In 59 snaps, Martin has 1 sack (I don't remember him allowing a sack), no hurries and no hits. He has a 2.6 grade as a pass blocker and a 1.5 grade as a runblocker with an overall grade of 4.5.

Richie Incognito is the 2nd rated left guard. In 59 snaps, he hasn't allowed anything. He grades 1.5 as a pass blocker and 1.0 as a run blocker with an overall grade of 2.7.

At center, Mike Pouncey is the third rated center, also with 59 snaps. He has not allowed anything. He has a 1.0 as a pass blocker and a 1.4 as a run blocker with an overall grade of 2.1.

At right guard, it starts to get sketchy. With 79 snaps as a right guard, Josh Samuda has allowed 2 sacks and 2 hurries. As a pass blocker, he rates at -1.6. As a run blocker, he rates as -2.8 for an overall grade of -4.0. He is ranked 132nd overall at the guard position (both left and right).

With 59 snaps, Tyson Clabo ranks 68th overall at the tackle position (left and right). He has allowed 3 hurries and nothing else. He has a 1.6 pass block grade but a -2.0 run block grade for an overall of 0.0.

Some other notables:

Dallas Thomas has allowed 1 sack, 2 QB hits and 2 QB hurries as a tackle. He grades out as a -4.4 overall.

Players on other teams, Terron Armstead is the 3rd best rated left tackle this preseason, while Kyle Long is the best overall guard.

Wondering if Clabo's drop off has anything to do with the chaos created by Samuda on that side of the line.

Jerry, Louis and Garner hurt. Crappity crap stains!

That could be part of it, but the question with Clabo has also been whether he was a good fit for the zone blocking scheme the Dolphins use.

He's doing fine in pass protection. It is the run blocking that needs work.

Basically Samuda's guy got through again chasing RT to the his left. Martin's guy peeled off the block and got the sack.

My boy...But it's at guard, not tackle.

But guys! Good LT's are like, so hard to find and like, you have to trade into the top 5 for one, or else like, you're going to go winless.

Martin won't be rated that high come the regular season, but he'll be solid enough. Tannehill has also been getting rid of the football very quickly most of the time, so that has helped them out big time.

His mobility has helped a lot.

To think we went into the preseason thinking the left side would be the issue.

Can Dallas Thomas play at all?

Supposedly he is doing pretty decent at RT. Probably grooming him to eventually replace Clabo in hopes of being a long term answer.

It would be awesome of Martin, Thomas and Pouncey ended up being three drafted mainstays on the line. Just a good, efficient unit.

Did JJ Watt play?

I was watching Martin a lot, he was having a good game. Seems to be getting up off the line faster to get hands on the defender.

Samuda was horrible, glad that may have been his last start barring injury.

Overall the o-line seemed better this week.
