Im so glad Miami's owners and managers failed to talk Manning into coming to Miami. Nothing like a record breaking 7 touchdowns to remind us of how real talent overcomes injuries and surgeries.

Why does talent avoid the Dolphins like the plague?

Yes because he was going to choose our talentless roster over the likes of Denver anyways. Give it a rest.

Wishful thinking.

You'd be more accurate in saying that if Parcells chose Atlanta than maybe Dimitrof would have been GM in Miami and Matt Ryan would be the QB under a different head coach. Or if Saban simply signed Brees...

Those are the stings.

This may sound nutty......but I'd rather have Tannehill than Manning. No, not for this season, but for the future of the program. Manning had an unbelievable game and maybe the best QB this year, but he's on the clock and one more big hit from his career being over.

A bit optimistic, but I think Tannehill will be our QB for the next 10+ years...............and a good one at that.

i hear what you're saying and i agree somewhat but only time will tell...tanny would have to turn out pretty good for that to be right....denver may get 3 or 4 shots at a superbowl here...and that would be pretty cool if it was going to be in miami

Thanks for the laughs, guys! Right on the money PZ. Shularino, I'd rather have a team that looks to be a super bowl contender than the possibility of one in a few years.

Manning would've made a nice short term fix. He makes receiving stars wherever he goes. Peyton's one issue is he sucks in big games. Even his superbowl run wasn't great.

He didn't break the record, he tied it.

As a fan all I care about is what will Tannehill do for the Dolphins. That's great that Manning just tore up the Ravens, but who cares? That doesn't do anything for the fins.

Dang Big Dave..........that's a bit pessimistic. First, the Broncos won their Division and one a playoff game with Tebow in 2011............obviously, the team has a lot of talent outside of the QB. Second, except for two teams, the season hasn't even started..............if you want to crown the Broncos, then go ahead and crown them..........I'm more interested in seeing where the teams stand in Dec/Jan. Finally, the Phins haves been on a QB carousel the last 14 years.......tired of the band aid solutions. I want to be a contender for the next 10+ years, modelling the Pats and Steelers philosophy of developing a rookie QB.

I know I was wrong about Peyton. I was as skeptical as they could possibly be given his age and the nature of that injury.

But man .... last night he was just something else. Talk about ball placement. Receivers dream of the things he does.

Or the "I've been sarcastic for so long that I'm starting to get confused about whether I'm still being sarcastic or really becoming a homer" award.

He took a couple of shots last night. He's got a whole season of those ahead of him. The season is a marathon, not a sprint. What did I say the other day...something like the Broncos are the most over rated team in football.... probably why I don't make those calls for a living. No question the Broncos put on a show but the biggest surprise wasnt the offense. It was a stout defense without their star. Del Rio has them playing.

I give the Broncos D some cred ..... but at the same time, the Ravens offensive squad is trying to form a new identity. The passing game looked lost most of the game without Boldin and Pitta.

After the Jones injury it just seemed the Ravens went flat.

Manning was phenomenal. I never thought he would play that way again. Last year, his smarts and ball placement got it done. This year, his arm is strong again and he had a great start to his season. Manning has become a legend!

Sorry, dude. It's just that the NFL is about the here and now. The Ravens were the best team in the NFL last year, but no one really cares right now (except them) because this is a new year. Tannehill could really be a great one, but if I were to think about today, I'd take Peyton over Tannehill to win a Super Bowl. He's the sure thing.

Now, in a month I may change my mind based on Tannehill and Manning performances and call myself an idiot;) You're welcome to join me, buddy. I would be ecstatic.

:)

And there was no way Marino was going to play for us. I don't get why some of the media and fans continue to criticize Ireland for that one.

the Ravens weren't the best team in the NFL. They just happened to win the Super Bowl. The new trend in the league. Be average all year and then get hot.

They won the Super Bowl, I think that qualifies them as the best team

It's all how you finish. They also started quickly with a 9-2 record that year, but swooned in December. Then they put it all together in the playoffs by beating the Colts, Broncos, Patriots, and 49ers. That was a very good team.
