Got the notification on my phone from NFL Mobile.

This is something we surely could do without.

I am glad it was a sprain and not a tear. And it will likely give Dion Jordan more playing time.

This hurts. We could definitely use Wake these next two games. Hopefully the young guys will step up, I haven't been impressed with our defense yet this season.

Hopefully Soliai will be back, but losing Cam hurts. Thankfully it is for 2-3 weeks, and the Dolphins have their bye coming up after the Ravens game.

Time for Dion to step up along with Olivier Vernon.

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

DAVIE —

The Dolphins’ euphoria over their 3-0 start took a slight hit Monday with the news that All-Pro defensive end Cameron Wake has a mild sprain of the left knee and could miss next Monday night’s game in New Orleans.

CBS Sports reported that he suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in the first quarter of Sunday’s victory over Atlanta. A Grade 1 MCL sprain — the least severe — typically requires a recovery of one to two weeks. ...

Dolphins defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle said the team would wait to determine whether Wake plays against the Saints.

“We’ve got a long week ahead of us and I think we’ll make that determination at the end of the week,” Coyle said. ...

Coyle can bluff all he wants, Wake is not playing until after the bye. I feel fine with Jordan and Shelby stepping up.

Probably so. Shame cuz I doubt we beat New Orleans without him. But its probably smart that we let Wake rest & get healthy when Misi, Patterson, Soliai, & Ellerbe are all banged up as well.

Lets go ahead and start Matt Moore Monday night

I'd never put anything past Wake.

But resting him for the next two games and giving him that bye week, so 4 weeks total, seems like an attractive option to me.

I'd rather him miss 2 games and be full-go the rest of the season, than try and play through it and make things worse or hamper him the rest of the way.

I think Coyle should bluff, why not get the other team to concentrate on game planning against him even if he isn't really going to play. Then again it is fair to say that NONE of us know how Cam feels today and for all we know he is a quick healer and comes out Monday night, but based on the injury logic says rest him a bit, but at the end of the day it is his body and he will know if he is ready to perform at a high level or not.

But then again, you have to take what he says with a grain of salt. Every player is competitive and thinks they should be out on the field if they can contribute, even if it's at the detriment of their health for the next week, month, etc.
