Post Free Agency Roundup - 14 Signed, 1 Traded - Updated 5/5/14
Figured we can add all the info to one thread... I'll keep this main post updated with the latest.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Players Signed

Brent Grimes - Cornerback
The resigning of Brent Grimes was top priority to most fans... seems the Dolphins felt the same way.

Louis Delmas - Safety
The Dolphins have signed Safety Louis Delmas to a 1 year, $3.5 million deal to replace Chris Clemons.

Brandon Albert - Offensive Tackle
Adam Schefter Tweets - "Former Chiefs OT Branden Albert reached agreement on a
5-yr, $46M deal including $25M GTD with the Miami Dolphins."

Earl Mitchell - Defensive Tackle
Adam Schefter Tweets - "Former Texans defensive tackle Earl Mitchell is expected to
land a 4-yr, $16M deal that includes $9M GTD with Dolphins."[/i]

Randy Starks - Defensive Tackle
Jason La Canfora Tweets - Randy Starks agrees to terms with Dolphins on a 2yr/$12M deal

Cortland Finnegan - Cornerback
Albert Breer Tweets - "The Dolphins are finalizing a 2-year deal with CB Cortland Finnegan, per source."

Shelley Smith - Offensive Guard
Rotoworld - Dolphins agreed to terms with OG Shelley Smith, formerly of the Rams,
on a two-year, $5.5 million contract.

Knowshon Moreno - Runningback
Rotoworld - Dolphins agreed to terms with RB Knowshon Moreno, formerly of the Broncos,
on a one-year contract.

Jason Fox - Offensive Tackle
Pro Football Talk - Jason Fox, an offensive tackle previously with the Lions,
has signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins

Austin Spitler - Special Teams
Rotoworld - March 21 - Dolphins re-signed LB Austin Spitler to a one-year, $1.323 million contract.

Kevin Cone - Wide Receiver / Special Teams
Rotoworld - Dolphins signed WR Kevin Cone, formerly of the Falcons. Cone (6-foot-2, 216) appeared
in all 16 games for the Falcons last season, catching just one pass for 12 yards. It's his only career grab
through 29 games. Cone has played a total of 51 offensive snaps in three seasons. He'll try and earn a
spot as a special teams player, where he picked up five tackles in 2013.

MIchael Rios - Wide Receiver
Per FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo, the Dolphins will sign former Arizona Cardinals receiver Michael Rios.

Jordan Rodgers - Quarterback
Philbin will get a chance to coach Rodger’s brother in 2014. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald
reports that the Dolphins added quarterback Jordan Rodgers to the roster on Wednesday.

Damian Williams - Wide Receiver
Rotoworld - He pencils in as the Dolphins' No. 4 receiver. The No. 77 overall pick of the 2010 draft,
Williams has caught just 106 passes in four years, but has experience both on the outside and in the slot.
Still only 26 (next month), Williams checks in at 6-foot-1, 193 pounds with 4.5 wheels. It's a nice depth
signing for a team that's once again been very active in free agency.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trades

Jonathan Martin to the San Francisco 49ers for a Conditional Pick
Miami Dolphins Tweeted - The Dolphins have traded OT Jonathan Martin to the
San Francisco 49ers in exchange for an undisclosed draft choice

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Players Lost

Paul Soliai - Defensive Tackle - Atlanta Falcons
Albert Breer Tweets - Paul Soliai has agreed to terms with the Atlanta Falcons on a
five-year, $33 million deal. $14 million guaranteed. $11 million in 2014.

Nolan Carroll - Cornerback - Philadelphia Eagles
Mike Garafolo ‏Tweets - Nolan Carroll's deal with the Eagles: two years, $5.2m with
more in incentives, per source.

John Jerry - Guard - New York Giants
Rotoworld - Giants RG John Jerry's one-year deal is worth $770,000.

Chris Clemons - Safety - Houston Texans
Rotoworld - Texans signed FS Chris Clemons to a two-year, $2.7 million contract.

Christopher Owens - Cornerback - Kansas City Chiefs
Rotoworld - Chiefs signed CB Chris Owens. Owens appeared in just one game last year due
to injuries and is strictly a depth signing.

Dimitri Patterson - Cornerback - New York Jets
Jets agreed to terms with CB Dimitri Patterson, formerly of the Dolphins,
on a one-year, $3 million contract.

R.J. Stanford - Cornerback - Cincinnati Bengals
Rotoworld - Bengals agreed to terms with CB R.J. Stanford, formerly of the Dolphins.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our Free Agents

David Arkin - Offensive Guard
No idea who this is.

Tyson Clabo - Offensive Tackle
Came in to fill the RT void last year, and for the most part was terrible. Started to gel
towards the end of the year, not sure it was enough to get another contract though.

Richie Incognito - Offensive Guard
In a strip club with Jonathan Martin somewhere.

Dustin Keller - Tight End
Had an amazing rapport with Tannehill before getting his knee busted open on a
cheap shot by rookie safety DJ Swearinger. I'd like to see him back, but haven't heard
much on the interest level.

Bryant McKinnie - Offensive Tackle
Filled in at LT when we needed it most last year. Could be brought back on a 1 year
deal to play RT if we whiff on one in the draft.

Marlon Moore - Wide Receiver
Was being smoke screened as a starter in San Fran last year, then got cut. Ended up
back in Miami mid-season, would be surprised to see him resigned.

Randy Thomas - Offensive Guard
Long time Redskins guard, didn't pan out for us, likely done with football.

Danny Watkins - Offensive Guard
Danny is our only Restricted Free Agent.

Will Yeatman - Offensive Tackle
Solid journeyman on the line for us these past few years. Would love to see a resigning here.

One good thing about being a losing team is that looking at the list of our own free agents you dont lose sleep over losing any of them.

Miami is in the running for Green Bay WR James Jones. This from Rotoworld.com.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reports the Lions have fallen out of the running for free agent WR James Jones.

It's possible they've decided to commit more money elsewhere, perhaps to SS T.J. Ward. Pauline reports the Jets, Giants, Dolphins, "and a fourth (undisclosed) team" are in the hunt for Jones. Jones is a quality No. 2 NFL receiver.

He was amazing in Arizona before we signed him as well.

Browns are doing work today. Dansby, Whitner, possible Revis trade.

I agree... but at least we'd have a guy who can find the endzone.

Though, not sure where he fits ... #3?

Not sure what the infatuation is with James Jones. We have speed in Wallace. We have route running and hands in Hartline. Both Gibson and Matthews are willing to work the middle.

Don't we need that red zone target that is going to leap over people to bring in touchdowns? James Jones had 3 TDs last season (granted he had 14 the year before).

Unless the plan is to move someone like Hartline or Gibson...

I think we have bigger needs than WR.

Never liked McFadden, even coming out of college. I remember the massive debates we had about McFadden and how good or bad he would be.

Maybe it is just me but a post up target seems to suit RT better than a burner anyway.

Cowboys cut DeMarcus Ware............this probably doesn't mean a lot, but the Boys need to find a replacement. Listen, I have no knowledge of this, but is Cam worth the Boys 16th overall pick or the 2nd, 3rd & player. Consider Cam's contract..........

2014........Base ($7.3M), ($1.4M pro-rated signing bonus)
2015........Base ($9.8M), ($1.4M pro-rated signing bonus)
2016........Base ($9.9M), ($1.4M pro-rated signing bonus)

Jones has been known to make these kinda deals, and if we don't trade him are we really planning to take an a cap hit of $9.8M and $9.9M in years '15 & '16?

Am I wrong to think its kind of weird that Donald Brown, Darren McFadden and Toby Gerhart have deals in place yet Ben Tate is still available?

Is he worth a Gerhart or Brown deal - 3 years 10-12 million?

If McFadden gets 1 year 4 million would you sign Blount to 1 year 2 million?

Some decent options still.

Dang. I wonder if we ever got a shot at Howard. Would've definitely brought some security to our plan early. I hope they bring in Davin Joseph this week for a workout but he' a Guard i think. What other RT's are out there?

Some New York newspaper is claiming that Revis would Love to reunite with his old team. I would find that hard to believe since they have been so chaotic the last couple years, Ryan may be in his last year as coach, & they don't have money

They are just beefing up that secondary because we are on the schedule this season!!

Also the Broncos are going all in but after this season they are done. They over paid for Talib who probably wont play 12 games this season.

Just different approaches I guess. Never heard of the Patriots over spending yet they are always "there". However although i predicted their demise & that we would over take them probably for about 4 seasons now .... I am telling you they are squirming at what we are building here & this will be the year.
