Seahawks hired former Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland as an NFL draft consultant.
The Seahwaks will discuss a permanent role with Ireland after the draft. Ireland's draft record with the Dolphins was far from stellar, but he will offer another experienced voice in the Seahawks war room.

I think Ireland is probably a good head of scouts, as long as he's not picking the players he can help evaluate.

I wish him well. I met him personally on a few different occasions and he is a nice guy and always took the time to talk to me and my wife. Has a special needs child too and gives a lot back to that cause for other kids that need help.

Or asking them about what type of work their mothers do.

All very true. He was at every web weekend & took alot of time to be with the fans. While its cool to knock him now that he is gone I think while not perfect the coaching staff did not get the most out of his selections. After next season when Philbin has some figure head job with the Raiders we can see who was at fault for all these sub par seasons.

Ireland would make a very good scout and facts don't argue that he still brought in 8 pro bowlers to Miami. The one positive you can say about what he did because I do not think too many other GM's have that accomplishment since 2008, however he was conservative and definitely mis-graded on guys. Probably not the best people person in his profession, so scouting behind the scenes he would probably add some value somewhere more so than a GM and it happens to be Seattle now.

I didn't have a problem with him asking the question. He should have found a more tactful way of asking it.

I think it was good for the Dolphins to let Ireland go. Things were getting out of hand with the Dolphins and the Dolphins had to move in another direction. As happy as I was that Huizenga had Parcells to rebuild this team, I am just as happy to put that failed mistake behind us.

Good luck to Ireland in Seattle.

I thought he was an above average GM. A better general manager than Philbin is a head coach.

Well said Swerve. This is a make or break year for the Hills Have Eyes Coach.

When Ireland was still employed in Miami this site was nearly always "all hate all the time." Now he's gone and it's all Philbin's fault.

If you can't be with the one you hate, then hate the one you're with!
