This came from the Miami Herald Sports Buzz section.

Ja’Wuan James, who started at right tackle at Tennessee, has been invited to visit Dolphins headquarters and has emerged as a legitimate option for them in the second or third round of next month’s NFL Draft.

Tennessee left tackle Antonio Richardson is more ballyhooed, but James is well-regarded and improved his stock at Tennessee’s Pro Day.

Here is NFL.com's assessment of James: "It is difficult to be overshadowed at 6-6, 324 pounds, but given the high profile talent in Knoxville, James qualifies. James is more fundamentally sound than Antonio Richardson and yet offers a similar package of size and athleticism."

Another good tackle who has gotten postseason attention. He was once thought of as a 4th rounder but seems to have put himself into the 2nd round now.

I think it obvious that if the Dolphins want to get a quality ORT, they don't have to go 1st round to get one.

Ya there's a whole big group of tackles and guards in the 2nd round, but it will thin out halfway through round 3.

The Miami Herald cites sources that say the Dolphins have a first-round grade on Tennessee OT Ja'Wuan James.
If so, they're reaching. James looks the part at 6-foot-6, 311 pounds with 35-inch arms and solid athletic skills. He also started 49 of 49 games for the Volunteers and drew a Titans RT David Stewart comparison from NFL.com's Gil Brandt. All of that is well and good, and James certainly has potential, but he plays upright, must work on his technique, and will have to add some bulk. He's a late Day 2 prospect.

And we didn't trade down? This guy had better produce.

Ja’Wuan James didn’t sleep Thursday night, but it was hard to tell. For the past two days, he has been living his dream.

“My prayers were answered last night,” James said Friday at Miami Dolphins headquarters, welcomed as the team’s first-round pick.

If he can protect Ryan Tannehill’s right side, the Dolphins will feel the same way. They picked him to help upgrade an offensive line that surrendered a franchise-worst 58 sacks last season.

The Dolphins had targeted James, from the University of Tennessee, since January. And he wasn’t shy about his intentions, either: He wanted to be in South Florida.

Understandably, emotions got the best of him when commissioner Roger Goodell called his name Thursday night.

“I was sitting on the couch with my family, casually watching [the draft],” he said. “Then I got the best phone call of my life.”

There were two trades right after our pick...They didn't try to hard.
According to some of these comments he was a pre draft 2nd 3rd or even 4th rounder.

By the time the draft came around, CBSSports draft site NFLDraftScout.com had James as a 1st-2nd round pick. He was starting to show up in the 1st round on some mocks.

If we are to trust "grades" we should have drafted the guy they had mocked to us... Unfortunately the grade was a bit higher in the war rooms because every name I saw mocked to us at 19 were off the board..

If we passed on a higher ranked T I could see why ppl would be upset. But the board dictated things, and at 19 James was the best T on board..
