The Miami Dolphins have added another big receiver to an already deep unit, signing former Valdosta State receiver Gerald Ford to a contract on Tuesday.
Ford, who is 6-foot-3, 223 pounds, initially signed with the Cleveland Browns after the draft, but was released earlier this offseason.
Ford missed the 2011 and 2013 season due to being academically eligible, but he was named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year in 2012 after catching 69 passes, 1,026 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns. ... 40-yard dash at 4.60 seconds and board jumped 10 feet, 4 inches at his Pro Day. He also lifted 225 pounds 22 times. ...
