How does a quarterback forget how to throw the ball? I am wondering if the change in his throwing motion has royally screwed this kid up.

For the record, White doesn’t look like he’s made drastic improvement, but it was only one session. Give it some time….

Might just be something in his head......you know to much thinking about throwing the ball instead of just doing it.

Throwing the ball to a receiver that has 4 steps on a guy versus throwing to a receiver that has a half step on a guy are two different things. The guy also never had to drop back....he was in the shotgun virtually the entire time, and even when he did take shotgun snaps, he was rolling right, left or taking off for a run....his footwork was never there from a drop back stand point.

Defensive lineman are shorter in college than in the NFL. Offensive lineman are shorter in college....so your viewpoint of the field is shifted, and at 6'0" that can become a problem. The only quarterback I've ever seen overcome that sort of height like it was nothing is Drew Brees....he's an anomaly on just about every account though....a spread quarterback, 6'0", torn shoulder, etc.

Bottom line, Pat White is dealing with footwork, throwing angles, viewpoints, speed of the game, and the pressure of being the first "Wildcat quarterback"

I think you mean "In other words." Regardless, those are your words, not mine.

Yep....going to end up being one of the worst high picks made by Miami in history. Look at the list of folks selected after White and weep.

Actually the list isn't that great, but there are a couple of players that we certainly could have used. I'm just disappointed that we changed his throwing motion. The way we use him, (hopefully used to use him), did it really need to be changed?? His passes are towards the sideline, and he doesn't throw often anyway...
