This isn't good lol. I'm sure the Jets will make a move if he's suspended so it'll be interesting to see what they do.

Don't get your hopes up high yet.

If this is his first substance abuse strike, he just gets fined.

It is up to the JETS to punish him. I'll be shocked if they sit him for sunday's game.. they don't have the guts to do so.

If i am wrong and the team does punish him... then good for us.

He'll play this Sunday. The league will have no disciplinary action until he's found guilty. I was quick to judge a Dolphins player once and the police dropped the case due to lack of evidence. So I'll sit on the sideline until the system finds him guilty.

Doesn't matter of it's his first DUI. He has prior off the field legal issues.

Guess we will see what kind of morals are in place..

ESPN reported the other issues don't get added to the DUI.

What were his other legal issues?

Thought he was just a dead-beat daddy... Child support or something like that...

The way I understand it is if it is his first offense, it falls under the substance abuse policy and will be assessed a fine off half a game check not to exceed $50,000 and put into the leagues substance abuse program with no suspension. Off the field legal issues fall under the personal conduct policy and would not impact this situation. If he is to be suspended it would have to come from the Jets.

I'm not sure what that means. All I know is that the players that get suspended are the ones that get in trouble more than once.

If a guy beats his wife and then a few months later is caught shoplifting... they aren't going to say "well he didn't beat his wife again so we'll let it slide".

Both of those infractions would be personal conduct, where it seems as though they treat a DUI as substance abuse which would be more of a mental health thing I'm guessing. However, a DUI should fall into both categories in my opinion.

I would agree with you, but I think it is per the union contract that they are seperate.

Jets hating aside, this is the problem with players like this. They set bad examples for all of the youngsters out there, which is kinda why I've been content with Peezy gone from our squad and Crowder staying @home on Sundays.

If you don't play for the beloved Patriots, Roger Goodell will suspend you for so much as farting outside your home.

I'm torn here, I believe the right thing to do would be to suspend him for the Dolphins game if these reports are true but as a fan I hope he just gets suspended. I guess that's why they get paid the big buck, to make these types of decisions. We'll see how it plays out.

The saddest part of it all choon is that there is a car service for all players in these circumstances... He could have picked up the phone and had a nice town car waiting to drive him home..
Of coarse that is where the Plax story comes in about a guy being robbed by a driver of that service...

Either way there is no excuse for a guy in his situation to be driving drunk...

I don't think he should be benched or otherwise disciplined unless the charges are proven. At that point, the discipline should be delivered.

Have the Dolphins taken any action against Ronnie Brown or or they "giving him his day in court"?

Guys, I added in that the Jets are likely to suspend Edwards to the title......

Looks like he'll miss the Phins game. I'm actually disappointed. I was hoping they would be at their best when we whoop their tails.

Added onto all this, there is also a rumor that he was picking up prostitutes when he got pulled over...

Quote:
**BREAKING NEWS** Sources are indicating that the Jets plan to * Suspend * Braylon Edwards before Thursday (Will be indefinite Suspension)

**BREAKING NEWS** NY Jets are not waiting for the NFL to suspend Braylon Edwards : They are in the process of suspending him immediately

**BREAKING NEWS** Sources have informed me that the Jets are extremely upset at Braylon Edwards after the DUI arrest - They will suspend him

**BREAKING NEWS** NY Jets front office has decided to suspend Braylon Edwards definitely 1game & more games can be added by Jets later on

**BREAKING NEWS** NFLPA will disagree with Jets suspending Braylon Edwards - But Jets are still suspending him - He will be inactive SUNDAY!

**BREAKING NEWS** NY Jets Suspend Edwards (1 Game Definitely & Maybe More Later) NFLPA will challenge it: Edwards will be inactive for Miami

**BREAKING NEWS** The NFL is not suspending Braylon Edwards > The NY JETS are suspending Braylon Edwards against Miami

**BREAKING NEWS** NY Jets will make him inactive for Miami game & internally it will be a suspension. NFL can not suspend him but Jets can

**BREAKING NEWS** Braylon Edwards had 4 Passengers not 1

I changed the title again b/c no where does it say that they are going to suspend him. The New York Post says they may but that's it. So the title "Edwards to be suspended" is very wrong and misleading at this point.

Once again it is proven that Dolphin players are smarter than Jets players. When Dolphin players are driving drunk they have the good sense to just abandon their vehicles & run away & therefore not submit to a breath test as well.
WR Braylon Edwards will play on Sunday, in spite of his arrest for DWI early Tuesday morning. Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement rules, a player cannot be deactivated as a punishment. The NFL will determine punishment when the court case is completed in November
.

???

What is the difference between suspending a player for unprofessional conduct as punishment and deactivating a player?

The league suspends the player. The team puts him on the inactive list.

I just read that he will be active Sunday night. Though Rex Ryan still has the decision of whether he will play.
