Crowder, a fifth-year veteran, donned a full set of pads and lined up next to Karlos Dansby with the first-team defense in the few minutes of practice open to the media. For the past five weeks, Crowder has spent practices rehabbing his injury with trainers on the sidelines. He was left at home for the first two games of the season at Buffalo and Minnesota, while Bobby Carpenter and Tim Dobbins took his place in the lineup.

In other practice news, rookie right guard John Jerry was not at Wednesday’s practice, and Jared Odrick continued to sit out with a fractured fibula. Otherwise, the Dolphins were as healthy as can be as they prepare to face the Jets on Sunday. If Jerry is unavailable for the game, veterans Cory Procter or Pat McQuistan can take his place.

Hope Crowder improves this unit. They have been pretty strong without him, I would think a guy like him should be fired up about playing with this group, add in "its Jets week" (as JT used to say it) and I think this should be a fired up defense...

HHOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLL

He'll likely be ready next week, but I expect them to keep him out until after the bye.

That is what I like about this regime. Even the back-ups do a decent job along the offensive line. The Parcells formula for success is pretty basic.

Im honestly a little nervous about Crowder getting back into the lineup... Hes never been anything more than a medicore player and now hes jumping in after a month and a half. Im sure hell see limited action but lets just hope we dont see to many of his imfamous arm tackles and bad angles

Can't be any worse than what Dobbins has been doing.

Nervous....nervous was watching AP punk Tim Dobbins on play after play. I won't even go into the poor angles Dobbins took on a sure sack. Someone said he assisted with the 4th and goal stop...really go watch it again. He should've been the 2nd guy there but reacted slow. Nope...here's one fan that glad Crowder is back in the lineup. He's not a big play waiting to happen but he's certainly better than what we have now.

Dobbins has not impressed me. Carpenter has though, he is always near the ball. I think and hope CC is an upgrade over those two. Defense is looking strong, and they are now using the right players at the right time.

I agree. Crowder has some limitations, but you are very limited with Dobbins...did you see him whiff on Favre at least 3 times on blitzes, even when he went right up the A-gap untouched.

Carpenter has been a revelation thus far.

Carpenter has been a pretty good FA pickup. Not sure why the Lams let him go. He covers well and that stop at the goal line was pretty dog gone good football technique. Anyway, we'll take it. I do think that when Crowder returns you've got a logjam at MLB. The good news is Crowder shouldn't have to play except on early downs.
