Dolphins center Jake Grove: I’m not injury prone
Quote: ......
“Next year I’m going to start 16, that’s the goal,” he said recently. “Hopefully I can get it next year.”
Grove played 16 games in 2006 with the Raiders. But he’s played more than 10 games just three times in six seasons, including 12 last season.
“I don’t think I’m injury prone,” he said. “I’m not thrilled it happened, but I’m not going to dwell on it. I’ll put it behind me and look toward the future.

Hmmm.... wasn't he replaced by Berger late in the season when he wasn't injured?

Put it like this, I'm glad Miami had a quality backup ready to fill in when Jake got hurt.

I wonder maybe if we kept Satele, Henne would have been sacked less.

I just figured he might have helped as most of the pressure in the passing game came down the middle and since Grove was mainly brought in to anchor the run game, of which we got away from.Satele is an adept pass blocker which the last couple games it seem our pass to run ration seemed to be 70-30.

Seemed to me that Grove was a better center the first 10 weeks and then fell off a bit.

I liked the signing of Grove, but I also felt he wouldn't play all 16 games. Why does he think he can?

Re: Dolphins center Jake Grove: I’m not injury prone
Well I mean, he's not going to say he can't, Dave.
E:leaf, I agree about Satele. But guys, Joe Berger did a heck of a job filling in for Grove, I thought. I think he is a very good back-up rotational guy to keep around. I think the interior of the line has plenty of depth.
The thing I question is what happens if Big Jake goes down?? Gardner is developing, but he was on the practice squad all season, and saw guys signed in the middle of the season crack the 53 man roster before he did. We just saw the Saints win a Super Bowl despite losing their Pro Bowl LT...you need a guy who can fill in if God forbid something does happen to Long.
